The 1-11 appears to be the most successful airliner that the UK built for export customers

Built more for their own market really (as applied to number of British types) .... is probably what you meant to say BUT .... it did quite well as an export to regions of British economic/political influence. NZ, being a British dominion, nearly fell victim to this kind of political persuasion too, but, we rejected the ONE-ELEVEN (it was a good aircraft but "unsuitable" for the NZ environment) in favor of the B737-200. The ONE-ELEVEN also became the first jet equipment for a number other operators around the world needing to transition into jet equipment through being unable to secure more expensive (though better) US jet equipment. For these operators this aircraft became "a stepping stone toward bigger and better things/fortunes". Mark C AKL/NZ

Someone requested this one a little while back. Erik kindly took up the challenge and produced it .... as appears below. NORTH CENTRAL AIRLINES B727-257 ADV N715NC (1978) "CONCEPT"This one's actually a "FANTASY" subject, but, it isn't actually as fictitious as one might think. The story apparently goes something like this .... NORTH CENTRAL did actually order B727-200 ADV's during the late 70's .... but .... the airline was merged into REPUBLIC AIRLINES prior to delivery .... and the NCA ordered aircraft ended up being delivered to, and supporting, REPUBLIC's corporate identity. This particular subject presents how the B727-200 ADV might have looked in NCA livery of the late 70's era. "THIS SORT OF SUBJECT" is what the HJG "FANTASY" inventory is really all about .... those aircraft that were mooted for acquisition, or ordered for delivery, and even prepared for operation, but, which never came to be .... for whatever reason/s that might have prevented their actually coming to fruition. "NICE" work Erik Mark C AKL/NZ

Happy to do it! Plus it's been a while since I painted a 727, so it was nice to get back to them after a bit. Here's another cargo-hauling DC-8; while it's not the most exciting one to take to the skies, it's one of the more recent-ish ones to still fly. N865F was delivered to Overseas National in 1969, and between leases and sales, served about two dozen operators during its career. It ended up with National Airlines in 2006 in this minimalist livery, and was retired in 2012. Nominally, it was donated to the Yankee Air Museum at Willow Run Airport near Detroit, but it's not listed in the museum's collection and has been stored in a corner of the airport ever since.

[/img] Sometimes it's the "Plain Jane's" that are "the most historic" subjects .... "HISTORY" being what "this group" was founded upon and has been all about since 2000 I knew about the NATIONAL DC-8-70's, but, didn't know about this one .... their SUPER 63. Mark C AKL/NZ

Love the tanker paints!! I’ve seen photos of both without the tank so not entirely inaccurate, just slightly inaccurate in its current form

In a hell of as rush Very little spare time at the moment, but, manage to "make time" in order to present Erik's latest B721C and BAC ONE-ELEVEN 200 and 500 .... as follows PAN AMERICAN WORLD AIRWAYS B727-21C N339PA "Clipper Koln Bonn" (1967)BRITISH CALEDONIAN AIRWAYS BAC ONE-ELEVEN 201AC G-ASTJ "Royal Burg Of Dumfermline" (1979)"NO" .... the above subject "isn't" the same as that Erik recently produced since this particular livery represents B-CAL's late 1970's introduced identity .... and DM only represented this particular livery for the BAC ONE-ELEVEN 500 BRITISH UNITED AIRWAYS BAC ONE-ELEVEN 501EX G-AWYS "Isle Of Bute" (1969)"NICE STUFF" Erik .... filling some historic gaps among what we offer among both the DMFS/HJG supplied BUA and B-CAL ONE-ELEVEN flight-lines And Erik may (possibly) still have a few more rabbits up his sleeve with which to further surprise everyone in regard to these same 2 operators too .... but .... all in good time. Go at least another 24 files to image (as/if time and opportunity are forthcoming), but, may not have time to present previews of all these prior to their release here within the next several days (or so) .... all proceeding in accordance with intended plans. 3 historic CALEDONIAN and CALEDONIAN/BUA liveries for the BAC ONE-ELEVEN 500 covering the airlines transition from BUA to CALEDONIAN AIRWAYS between the very late 60's and very early 70's period .... and prior to the airline being rebranded BRITISH CALEDONIAN during the late 70's. CALEDONIAN AIRWAYS BAC ONE-ELEVEN 509EW G-AWWD "Flagship Isle Of Skye" (1969)CALEDONIAN AIRWAYS/BUA BAC ONE-ELEVEN 501EX G-AWYV "Isle Of Harris" (1971)CALEDONIAN AIRWAYS/BUA BAC ONE-ELEVEN 509EW G-AWWY "Isle Of Iona" (1972)A livery that looked "GOOD" on everything it was ever applied to.
