I didn't expect to be able to this today (considering everything else I've got on at the moment), but, for R/W meteorological reason my day and schedule suddenly free'd-up .... quite unexpectedly. ANYWAY .... Thanks to the much appreciated efforts of my colleague George CARTY we've made the WX Radar in the DMFS TRIDENT panels "functional". This item was previously "a dormant feature" within these panels. The WX Radar Unit itself remains almost unchanged (we didn't want to risk altering DM's concept of how he wanted these panels to look) .... save for its now functional screen and selector options. - The tab located at the top left of the selector panel (below the actual Radar screen) is the ON/OFF" switch .... which switches the unit between "OFF, ON", and "STAB" settings. - The large rotary switch located within the center of the selector panel is the "RADAR ANTENNAE TILT" switch .... enabling the antennae scanner to be set at axis' ranging between 15* up or down. - The tab located at the top right of the selector panel is the "RANGE LINE INTENSIFIER" .... to dim or intensify brightness of the WX Radar range line definitions in accordance with personal preference. - The tab located at the bottom left of the selector panel is the "RANGE SELECTOR" .... enabling the WX Radar range to be set in increments of 20, 50, or 150 miles. - The tab located at the bottom left middle of the selector panel is the "CONTRAST SELECTOR" .... enabling brightness of the overall WX radar screen to be dimmed or brightened in accordance with personal preference. - The tab located at the bottom right middle is the WX Radar "GAIN" selector .... with 3 selectable settings enabling brightness of the displayed meteorological detections to be dimmed or brightened in accordance with personal preference. This WX RADAR is presented here with the 2D panel only and in FS2004 .... It has yet to be analized in the VC panel in FS2004 .... and also in both the 2D and VC panels in FSX too although no problems are anticipated. The functionality of this WX RADAR is based on that of the WX RADAR units featured in other HJG panel offerings. This WX RADAR "does" present accurate indications in regard to the state of prevailing FS weather selections. As is the case with the WX RADAR featured in other HJG panel offerings this unit similarly requires either a "licensed or "unlicensed" version of Pete DOWSON's FSUIPC module in order to work. This particular module is downloadable from SCHIRATTI.COM and as separate FS2004 and FSX specific versions. This feature is still currently undergoing pre-release testing .... and we hoe to extend it to the DMFS BAC ONE-ELEVEN, DH106 COMET, and VC10/C1K panels too. Mark C AKL/NZ

Glad to see it working in FS2004, as I haven't been able to run FS2004 properly since my old PC died on me in January 2022. (I did all my recent testing in FSX.)

Continuing this DMFS panels WX RADAR theme .... whilst I, again today and quite unexpectedly, have some time to do so. The following is this new WX Radar in the TRIDENT VC panel view and in FS2004 .... And following is this new WX Radar in the standard BAC ONE-ELEVEN panel .... featured here in both 2D and VC panel views and in FS2004 .... Then the following is this new WX Radar in the BAC ONE-ELEVEN 510ED panel .... also featured here in both 2D and VC panel views and in FS2004 .... These WX Radars are both FS2004 and FSX compatible. By default the TRIDENT WX Radar is a permanently visible part of the main panel (not a pop-up sub panel) hence its size remains the same as that originally represented per the previously dormant version featured within this 2D panel, but, in VC panel view this display appears slightly larger whilst continuing to occupy the very same locality. The standard BAC ONE-ELEVEN and BAC ONE-ELEVEN 510ED panels have never previously had any form of WX Radar feature. In the case of each of these panels this WX Radar is a separate pop-up sub panel and appears larger by default. It's commanded into view using a new "WX" named selection icon located among the Main Panel's Sub-Panel selection icons menu. In the case of both BAC ONE-ELEVEN panels the WX Radar Sub-Panel can be moved around/re-positioned within the Main Panel in accordance with convenience/personal preference. Both the BAC ONE-ELEVEN and TRIDENT panels WX Radars are identical and function precisely as explained within my introductory posting above. None of these WX Radar features alter DM's basic concept of how he wanted each of these panels to appear. All previously existing features within these panels remain "complete unaltered" and continue to function "precisely as previously designed/intended". This's a view of the larger BAC ONE-ELEVEN panels WX Radar and within which all features are bit more clearly discernable .... The COMET and VC10/C1K panels will each feature something similar too .... but different .... and which has yet to be designed and implemented. Mark C AKL/NZ

Further advancing with this DMFS panels WX RADAR theme .... The following is this new WX Radar for the VC10 panel and in FS2004 .... And the following is this new WX Radar for the VC10/C1K (military aircraft version) panel .... Once again these WX Radar's are both FS2004 and FSX compatible. Unlike the DMFS BAC ONE-ELEVEN, COMET, and TRIDENT simulations, the DMFS VC10 and VC10/C1K simulations have never been supported by a VC Panel (and "NO" .... we "WON'T" be implementing such, so, please "DON'T" ask ), so, this WX Radar preview can only be presented in 2D Panel view. Like has previously been the case with the DMFS BAC ONE-ELEVEN Panels, these VC10 and VC10/C1K Panels have never previously featured a WX Radar. As HJG's done in case of both BAC ONE-ELEVEN Panels, this WX Radar is a separate pop-up Sub-Panel, commanded into view using a new "WX" named selection icon located within the Main Panel Sub-Panel selection icons menu. For convenience, and in keeping with "1960's era modernity" the WX Radar featured in these VC10 and VC10/C1K panels is identical to that now implemented, by HJG, into both of the BAC ONE-ELEVEN Panels and the TRIDENT Panel .... and each functions precisely explained at the start of this thread. Both of these WX Radar Sub-Panels can be moved around/re-positioned within the Main Panel view and in accordance with convenience/personal preference. Again this WX Radar (George CARTY's own creation) "DOES" present an accurate indication of the prevailing state of weather selections/representation within FS. As previously advised (and applies also to the WX Radar's featured in each of HJG's own or other imported and edited panels too), these WX Radar's require either a "licensed" or "unlicensed" version of Pete DOWSON's FSUIPC module in order to work. This particular module is downloadable from SCHIRATTI.COM as separate FS2004 and FSX specific versions. If one doesn't already have FSUIP installed, then, be sure to select the version specific to one's FS platform of choice. Be advised also .... HJG recommend the use of FSUIPC, but, don't provide support for it. All technical support is provided per Pete & John DOWSON'sd following-linked "FSUIPC SUPPORT FORUM" ... forum.simflight.com/forum/30-fsuipc-support-pete-dowson-modules/These WX Radar features "DO NOT" alter basic concept of how DM wanted each of these VC10 and VC10/C1K panels to appear. Again .... all previously existing features within each of these panels remain "completely unaltered" and continue functioning "precisely as previously designed/intended". The DMFS COMET panels already feature a WX Radar .... "of sorts" .... but .... it "can't" present weather detection as George's WX Radar "DOES". We're hopeful George may (possibly) be able to implement "a version" of his WX Radar into the DMFS COMET Panels too .... but .... we'll wait'n'see as it may require something a wee bit different. This's the final installment in regard to this presentation of the HJG WX Radar set edits being applied to each of the DMFS panels, As presented above each of the DMFS BAC ONE-ELEVEN, TRIDENT, and VC10/C1-K panels have already been equipped with this WX Radar .... which is also similar to that featured in each of the HJG produced and/or otherwise imported and edited panels we offer here. Thanks entirely to the continued and much appreciated efforts of my colleague George CARTY .... a "functional" (meaning it works/does detect accurately display FS generated meteorology) WX Radar has bow been created for the DMFS COMET panel too. This item was previously "a dormant feature" within these panels .... in other words it was represented but didn't have the ability to present weather related detections. This COMET WX Radar set is somewhat different from that being applied to the BAC ONE-ELEVEN, TRIDENT, and VC10/C1-K panels. It needed to be specially customized both in order to reasonably accurately represent (an HJG preference since 2000) an actual COMET era set (which predates that of the B707, CV880/990, and DC-8) and then accommodated into this particular panel. Due to the manner in which the original DMFS COMET panel WX Radar was implemented we had to take some "minor" liberties though .... only in regard to the location of various selectors governing different features of this COMET version WX Radar set. On the R/W COMET selector knobs for the WX Radar are located within the top-left and along the bottom of this set. As the base of the 2D panel COMET WX Radar "is not" visible .... and .... as the Control Yoke conceals part of the WX Radar set in VC panel view .... we "had to" locate some of the WX Radar selector knobs to the top-left, top-right, and bottom-right of the set we've implemented and for reasons of their accessibility. We "DID NOT" want to (and nor have we done so) alter DM's concept of how "he wanted" this and his other panels to appear, so, we've simply edited around precisely what's always been provided .... but with with resulting advantage of everything now working .... and additionally benefitting also from the other fixes we've successfully applied to each of the original DMFS panels too. We like to feel all of these edits combined do kind justice to DM's original work whilst continuing making him feel additionally proud So .... "HERE IT IS" .... the "functional WX Radar featured DMFS COMET panel" .... with a few explanations in regard to its associated selector knobs .... DMFS COMET PANEL - BASIC 2D PANEL VIEW DMFS COMET PANEL - VC PANEL VIEW - WX RADAR "OFF" DMFS COMET PANEL - VC PANEL VIEW - WX RADAR "ON/STANDBY MODE/MINIMUM BRILLIANCE INTENSITY SELECTED" DMFS COMET PANEL - VC PANEL VIEW - WX RADAR "ON/STANDBY MODE/MAXIMUM BRILLIANCE INTENSITY SELECTED" DMFS COMET PANEL - VC PANEL VIEW - WX RADAR "WEATHER DETECTION" DMFS COMET PANEL - 2D PANEL VIEW - WX RADAR "WEATHER DETECTION/S" DMFS WX WEATHER RADAR COMET PANEL SELECTOR KNOBS- The selector knob located within the top-left of the WX Radar is used to turn this set "ON/OFF" and also select weather detection range .... and which maybe set at 10, 50,and 150 mile increments accordingly. - The selector knob located within the top-right of the WX Radar is used to tilt/alter the axis of the WX Radar Scanner in order to aid weather detection/s. - The selector knob located within the bottom-right of the WX Radar (PLEASE NOTE: This particular selector can only be accessed in VC panel view .... it "is not" accessible in 2D panel view due to its location) is used to alter the brilliance/intensity of WX Radar display and in accordance with personal preference/s. All very "effective", very "functional", and also "very easy to use" too. These edits are compatible with both FS2004 and FSX. Again and as earlier commented within this thread a free or fully licensed version of Pete DOWSON's FSUIPC is required (separate versions for FS2004 and FSX .... available from SHIRATTI.COM) in order for the WX RADAR set in each ofr these, and HJG's other, panels to be able to function. PLEASE NOTE ALSO: NONE OF THESE PANELS HAVE YET BEEN RELEASED .... so don't go looking to download any of them .... "WE'LL ADVISE AS SOON AS THEY ARE PUBLICKLY AVAILBLE FOR DOWNLOAD"DMFS COMET PANEL - 2D PANEL VIEW - APPROACH TO LANDING" DMFS COMET PANEL - VC PANEL VIEW - APPROACH TO LANDING" I want to thank George CARTY for the manner in which he has "so brilliantly" rendered these edits possible .... as only he/George could ever achieve .... "THANKS" George you've done a fine job and you always do Mark C AKL/NZ
