I recently downloaded a new texture (united_cargo_1964_54f_n8042u) for the DC-8-54F. I believe there is a problem with 2 of the files within the texture folder. The 2 files are: "F2-50V5.bmp", and "F2-50V5_L.bmp". The problem is that the textures in question are blank. (black). Everything else was good except for these 2 files, which are for the entire fuselage between the cockpit and the wings. I substituted the same textures from a different livery, and they worked fine, so I'm sure the problem lies with the United files. I've tried downloading the texture several times, but always have the same issue. Help!

Just want to check ....
You are using that UAL CARGO DC-8-54F texture with the DC-8-54F V6.1 Aircraft base packs (not the PAX version) .... right ?
For reasons of different model/texture mapping if any DC-8F texture is used with a PAX version #3D model then the F1 and F2 texture BMP's won't be recognized and displayed by that/the "-F" version 3D model.
That UAL CARGO texture must be used with a/the DC-8-54F Aircraft Base Pack model only.
Just check this detail .... and advise accordingly please.
I'll recheck the file myself too .... and only if necessary reupload the file/s later .... or otherwise comment further.

I verify that I am using the DC-8-54F V6.1 model. The way I determined that the problem lies with the United files is that I also have the Transcontinental DC8-54F in the same folder. I copied the corresponding texture files from the Transcon 54F, and placed them in the United folder. When I start up FSX, the United DC8 has the Transcon textures in the affected area. I also tried the same thing using the Braniff DC8 freighter.....same results, United paint with Braniff paint in the same fuselage area. It has to be the United files, don't know how it can be anything else.

Found the cause of this issue. The 2X "F2" Texture BMP's (in the UAL CARGO subject) were incorrectly named for the DC-8-50F 3D model. I've fixed these .... and checked this texture in my own FS installation. It now displays OK. I've now deleted the originally uploaded file .... and replaced it with the fixed version. Use the earlier provided link (within "installment #1/NEW TEXTURES" of the "HJG New/Upgraded Files Releases - May 2023" announcement) to access this new/fixed file .... BUT .... before attempting to download anything refresh your browser (a couple of times) by selecting CTRL+F5 keyboard commands in order to ensure getting "the actual replacement/fixed file". FYI .... the ONA 1968 DC-8-55F N852F texture (located within "installment #2/UPGRADED TEXTURES" of the same "HJG New/Upgraded Files Releases - May 2023" announcement) was also "potentially" a victim of the same sort of error too (a very easy/innocent mistake for any painter to make when dealing with multiple files at once), so, I've replaced it too This should resolve you issue completely Mark C AKL/NZ

Yup, probably my fault. Every now and then I use another texture from another model for a "like" livery and dont always remember to make sure all the proper bitmaps/naming are correct for the proper model. Accept my apologies Mark, Had a lot of files to conquer so it does not surprise me.
