The above mentioned NORDAIR 1979 C-GNDA texture has now been replaced. The replacement file features the correctly named pairs of F1 and F2 pairs texture BMP's for use with our DC-8 SUPER 61CF aircraft base pack model.
This replacement texture (originally released during June 2017 .... before our "V6.1" and "V6.2" DC-8 models were ever conceived/produced) has also been "upgraded" with its "ADDITIONAL TEXTURES" components for use with our new "DC-8 SUPER 61CF V6.1" model.
Those whom wish to do so need only delete their original NORDAIR 1979 C-GNDA texture and replace it with the following-linked new texture file ....
Nordair C-GNDA (1979)DOWNLOADUse the above texture with the following HJG supplied files ....
DC-8 SUPER 61F Aircraft Base Pack
DC-8 SUPER 61 Panel (use standard or INS version)
DC-8 SUPER 61 P&W JT3D-3B Fanjet Sound Pack

Using this replacement and upgraded NORDAIR 1979 C-GNDA texture as "an example" I'm also now going to seize this posting in order to demonstrate the importance of applying the "ADDITIONAL TEXTURES" components (customized for each DC-8 model by necessity .... because the details associated with each model differ by similar necessity) included within the new DC-8 SUPER 61F aircraft base pack and which must be applied to all textures applied to its supporting new "V6.1" 3D model. Time hasn't (really) been available to me in order to do this previously .... other than the fact doing is something that's been "constantly on my mind" .... like a lot of other things too. Pay close attention to the following images and descriptive text ....
1.NON-UPGRADED TEXTURE/NEW MODELThe following images present this NORDAIR 1979 C-GNDA texture on our new V6.1 DC-8 SUPER 61F model but
not upgraded with its intended "ADDITIONAL TEXTURES" components ....
- Note the untextured reverser rings near the engine nacelle tail pipes ....
- Note the untextured containers inside the open port side forward fuselage main deck cargo door ....
- Note the untextured static grills inside the front of each engine nacelle ....
2.UPGRADED TEXTURE/NEW MODELThe following images present the very same NORDAIR 1979 C-GNDA texture on our new V6.1 DC-8 SUPER 61F model but
upgraded with its intended "ADDITIONAL TEXTURE" components ....
- Note the now textured reverser rings near the engine nacelle tail pipes ....
- Note the now textured containers inside the open port side forward fuselage main deck cargo door ....
- Note the now textured static grill inside the fron of the enegine nacelle ....
As explained (a number of times) within the 2021-2022 DC-8 project redevelopment thread, it was impossible to update these 3D models without imposing need to add additional texture BMP's in order to adequately detail/texture some of their new/modified features. As quoted within
SECTION 1.12/"DC-8 TEXTURE FILES" of our following-linked forum posted manual for these simulations (and also explained within "ORIENTATION NOTES" accompanying with some DC-8 featured file releases since DEC 2022) ....
tonymadgehjg.proboards.com/thread/8019/hjg-panel-installation-handling-notes.... the installation of these "ADDITIONAL TEXTURES" components is "very simple".
