Hi friends: Airlines are sometimes creative in choosing names of their new "mounts". A nice idea of Bahamasairways was to paint their BAC 1-11-500 in colours resembling a flamingo sitting on a Bahams-white beach with the Bahamas-blue ocean behind and "Flamingo Jet" was born. bahamasair.com/images/pdf/Inflight.pdfKind regards Walter

"Personally" .... I always preferred BAHAMASAIR livery on both the BAC ONE-ELEVEN 400 and HS748 .... It looked just as nice .... if not nicer still .... on their B737-200 too Mark C AKL/MZ

Hi friends: The flamingo motive came to Bahamasair also through its creation as a merger between two airlines "Out Island Airways" and "Flamingo Airways" in 1973. www.bahamasair.com/aboutusKind regards Walter
