"ORIENTATION NOTICES"

Welcome to this September (southern Spring) release .... HJG's 5th for this year/since April and during which (and combined with the 135 file content of this particular offering) we've so far managed releasing a total of some 536 new and upgraded files for your "FREE" FS enjoyment in FS2004 and FSX.

2023's shaping up to be HJG's most productive year ever .... thanks to the dedication of its hard working crew (do spare a moment to reflect upon the fact these guys sacrifice their own time and effort for "nothing" .... other than to try'n please other people with the fruits of their labor). At the current rate of production (new files are already starting to accumulate for the next release) HJG may manage hitting, or exceeding, some 600 files for the entire year/by December .... and "IF SO", then, that'll be "a first" throughout the entire 23 year history of this group, but, it's quality (primarily talking about texturing, flight dynamics, and audio here) this crew tries to prioritize over quantity, so, we'll see what transpires as we progress toward the end of this 2023 year.

Again these latest files are being provided per the same manner of supply as as been been practiced since April.

PLEASE NOTE: There's absolutely nothing wrong with the HJG DOWNLOADS section/website that's forcing this. This "new norm" (in respect of file supply and access) is a situation being dictated by private circumstances imposing staff unavailability and our need to try'n maintain a regular schedule of file releases with minimum delays.

Pay attention to the file download instructions stated at the start of the above posted announcement. "EVERYTHING WORKS FINE" as instructed .... provided the stated file access recommendations are adhered to.

ANYWAY .... to get into the content of this latest release ....


As all essential file configuration information's adequately communicated within notes associated with each of the above announced new file releases. The following's essential information in order to try'n "further clarify" certain important details for eveyone's better understanding ....


1. "YES" .... you've correctly read the "NEW FILES RELEASES" announcement. The "B737-200" family "IS" now being offered by HJG. This particular project was commenced during December 2015 .... but .... the B737-300/400/500 were eventually prioritized over it. This B737-200 project was then deprioritized (though work continued on it at a greatly reduced pace) in favor of our recent B707, B720, C-135, and both CV880 and CV990 FDE updates .... which also (between 2016 and 2022) included new and customized sound packs for these simulations and for our B727's, DC-8's, CV880's, CV990's, DC-9's, and MD-80's too, as well as the recent revamping of our DC-8 models as too (how time tends to fly/pass unnoticeably whilst one's having fun). That's why these B737-200's have been so long coming. We simply wanted/needed to try'n "tidy-up" what we were already offering "prior to" diverting attention to anything else new.


2. B737-200 MODELS: This project's supported by Erik CANTU's 2005 produced B737-200 model. It was among files we (and other FS parties too) received from CANTU during October 2010. This new flight line's an extension of that already offered by HJG in the form of the similarly CANTU produced B727, B737 (300/400/500), DC-10, and L-1011 TRISTAR models that were also included among the 2010 data we received from CANTU (the B727's were were actually released here as the result of a much earlier 2008 authorization though .... and these models were then updated by us during 2015). Using the (incomplete) data which accompanied these files HJG's been able to address a number of minor imperfections associated with the original B737-200 3D model .... and add other details too .... to result in a total of 8X individual B737-200 3D models of the following descriptions ....

These models are FS2004 native, but, also FSX portable too. They "ARE NOT" P3D, X-PLANE, or MSFS 2020 compatible though. These may be older models but they remain "great 3D representations" of the B737-200 (for the benefit those whom have elected to remain with FS2004 and FSX). These current models are each based upon physical details associated with the "B737-200 ADV" in particular, but, their accompanying FDE files have been customized, by us, to ensure FS flight performances are "different"/reflect that of both early production B737-200 and later B737-200 ADV versions respectively .... as best both our abilities and FS will permit.

Supported by HJG FDE editing, textures, sound packs, and the recommended non-HJG produced panel option too, these B737-200 simulations perform "exceptionally well".

PLEASE NOTE: Although edited by HJG each of the above-mentioned 3D models remain the property of "Erik CANTU". HJG claim no rights in respect of these 3D model files. "HJG" references among, and within, these files is simply intended to communicate the fact these 3D models have been further enhanced by this group since people need to be aware of that .... and which we do also need to be openly clear about also.


3. B737-200 AIRCRAFT BASE PACKS: A total of 13 (so far released) base packs currently support the HJG offered B737-200 project. These cover each of the following aircraft type configurations ....

These base packs, and their accompanying FDE, are both aircraft type and engine type specific. Although AIR.FILE's supporting these simulations are named either "B737-200" or "B737-200ADV" (only) it's essential to keep all FDE data (that's both AIR.FILE's and AIRCRAFT.CFG's) inside their respective aircraft base packs. Whilst similarly named (for reasons of administrative necessity) these files "are each different" and specifically customized in accordance with each aircraft type/engine type and weight configuration. "DO NOT" under any circumstances separate or otherwise mix-up the FDE (or even model) content of these base packs. Mixing up this data risks messing up the performance these simulations have been compiled to deliver. Use each base pack individually .... as supplied .... and add texture selections to each corresponding base pack. The correct/intended aircraft base pack (and sound) recommendations are clearly stated within ADD TO AIRCRAFT data accompanying each Texture file.

One "WILL" find the flight performances, in FS, of each of these B737-200 simulations is "VASTLY SUPERIOR" to that of their original releases. In fact if one starts by using the early lowest power/weight configurations of these simulations .... and advances to the later highest power/weight versions accordingly .... then one will quickly gain a very good impression as to how B737-200 performance and capabilities improved throughout the aircrafts development.


4. B737-200 SOUND PACKS: A total of 2 B737-100/200 type P&W JT8D sound packs are offered by HJG for use with this project. These each represent the "JT8D-7" and "JT8D-9/15/17" turbofan specifically. Each is composed of the appropriate tonal differences associated with these engine types. These sound packs are based on those that originally supported the HJG offered B727 and DC-9 simulations (until replaced by Benoit PLAMONDON's audio during 2016 and 2021 respectively) .... and which also continue to support the HJG offered JT8D powered CARAVELLE 10R/10B1 simulations. PLEASE NOTE: These sound packs are FS2004 native. They will work with FSX too, but, "have not" been engineered in accordance with the superior FSX audio engine. We may be able to offer FSX specific B737 P&W JT8D audio later, but, make no promises whatsoever in this regard.


5. B737-200 PANEL: HJG "DOES NOT" (at this time) offer any B737-100/200 panels for download from this website. All HJG testing of this project (since 2015) has been supported by the "TIN MOUSE II B737-200 V1.25 panel .... with its V1.26 update" file. This panel's proven to be, by far, the very best option for these B737-200 simulations .... and to such an extent that certain aspects of the HJG supplied B737-200 FDE has been based upon requirements for this particular panel anyway. This panel (and its update) are FS2004 native only though. As this panel's been so successfully used to develop and flight test the HJG offered B732-200 project (over a very long period) we're perfectly happy to endorse its use. We're aware of "a certain other FS development group" (not TM) that's recommended use of HJG panels for its productions in the past and therefore have no hesitation acting similarly, and more-so because we don't offer or recommend any edits or enhancements for the TIN MOUSE II B737-200 panel .... "with the exception of those already endorsed by its own development team".

PLEASE NOTE: HJG has had no developmental input to and exercises no proprietary intent in regard to the TIN MOUSE II B737-200 panel .... or any of the "TM endorsed" edits or enhancements associated with this panel.

PLEASE NOTE ALSO: The installation procedure for this panel (as quoted within HJG's forum based B737-200 manual) remains precisely as that prescribed by the TIN MOUSE team in regard to all essential details. HJG "DOES NOT" encourage or otherwise promote departing from the TIN MOUSE recommended panel installation procedures.

There "IS" a later dual FS2004 and FSX portable version of this same panel though. This file's identified as the "TIN MOUSE II B737-200 V1.30 panel .... with its V1.31 and V1.32 update" files .... BUT PLEASE NOTE .... this other panel version (and its updates) "HAS NOT", yet, been properly analyzed using the HJG offered B737-200 project. For this reason HJG's prepared to/can provide "limited support" for the recommended "TIN MOUSE II B737-200 panel V1.25 with its V1.26 update" file only, but, only if used with the HJG offered B737-200 simulations (which includes using the HJG supplied FDE files also). HJG "CANNOT" and "DOES NOT" provide support for the TIN MOUSE B737 project generally. Nor can it support any alternative panel files (or FDE files either) used with these simulations, so please, "DO NOT" recommend other panel/file options for this HJG offered project since this group lacks familiarity with other options and can only properly support what's already been developed/tested (over a very long development period) .... and which it's satisfied works very well "if used properly/as recommended".

PLEASE NOTE: AVSIM.COM located file names for FS2004 (specific) and dual FS2004/FSX versions of the recommended TIN MOUSE II B737-200 panel are provided within HJG's new forum based B737-200 manual .... see "SECTION 1.06/HJG B737-200 PANEL REPRESENTATION" within this aid. A simple 3-step installation procedure is also advised within "SECTION 1.12/HJG B737-200 PANEL INSTALLATION" of this same manual.


6. B737-200 TEXTURES: All textures offered by HJG and for this particular project are by its own group artists. Nothing's been imported or donated from elsewhere. Although HJG have edited the 3D models supporting this project .... all texture BMP file naming conventions remain true to the original 2005 produced models. For this reason it should be possible to use most non-HJG textures (for the original 2005 produced 3D model) with this HJG offered B737-200 project. Again "NONE" of the HJG undertaken model editing impacts any of the original texturing conventions for these 3D models.


7. A very comprehensive B737-200 manual's been compiled by HJG "specifically for use with this particular project". Please review it. This manual covers almost everything one needs to know/understand in order to best enjoy these simulations .... supported by other HJG recommended files also. Please refer to this manual "prior to" seeking technical support. This manual's located on the "BOEING" aircraft support page of this forum or can be accessed per the following link ....

In regard to support for our files. There's no point, or sense, in seeking technical assistance for HJG hosted files outside this forum. The only reason this's stated is due to evidence of past "incorrect advice" that's been offered on other forums monitored by HJG .... and which is obviously of concern to us given the length this group goes in order to "TRY TO" assist peoples enjoyment of what HJG offer. People can do what they wish "in this regard" .... of course .... BUT .... people also need to remember the knowledge base which understands, and has brought each of these simulations into existence, and is best able to provide support for these particular files too, can only be found "HERE" .... at HJG.

A "DONATE" tab is now a permanent feature on the HJG Home page. This´s common practice now among most major FS websites. It´s intended to facilitate donations to SIMVIATION.COM .... HJG's service provider. PLEASE NOTE: HJG is, and will always, remain a 100% "FREEWARE" FS website. ZK-NAS was delivered to AIR NEW ZEALAND on July 1st 1980 (the 2nd B737-200 ADV delivered to the airlines following the 1977 NZNAC/AIR NEW ZEALAND merger. Upon delivery it supported an experimental livery .... featuring the airlines new/early 1980's finalized Pacific jade and blue fuselage striping, but, separated by a white pinstripe. It was leased to POLYNESIAN AIRLINES for a brief period during 1980 .... and later named PIWAKAWAKA (fantail) upon its return to AIR NEW ZEALAND service later that year. During the early 1990's this aircraft then supported a 2nd/revised experimental AIR NEW ZEALAND livery .... composed of the same Pacific jade and blue fuselage striping but featuring its original white pin stripe broadened into a white band boldly separating both stripes. It was sold to IAI PACIFIC LEASING (N318CM) on June 16th 1995. Then leased to COPA PANAMA AIRLINES from June 22nd 1995 (HP-1288CMP) until June 15th 2002. A lease to SOUTHERN WINDS (of Argentina) was negotiated for this aircraft but never eventuated ... and it was instead leased to PHEONIX AVIATION (EX-009) from March 2003 .... then sub leased to AIR CORRIDOR until February 2005. It was next leased to ITEK AIR from March 2006 .... and was W/O as the result of a fatal landing accident at Bishkek, Kyrygzstan, on August 24th 2008, whilst being operated on behalf of IRAN ASEMAN AIRLINES.

I was going to hold-back these 2 texture subjects until later as "TECHNICALLY SPEAKING" both require a 3D model (with NORDAM type Hush Kits) .... which we're not able to offer "just yet". Thinking about this though I've decided since the artist concerned has gone to the trouble of representing these 2 subjects .... in this mid 1990's introduced AIR NEW ZEALAND "Pacific Wave" livery .... it wouldn't be fair to delay their release. I therefore feel we can offer these textures "NOW" .... and (hopefully) update them for their intended 3D model later on .... so .... that's what I've elected to do.

Both of these subjects are by Tony MADGE.

A little concerning the background of both aircraft ....


B737-219C ADV ZK-NQC (C/N # 22994 L/N # 928) was first delivered to AIR NEW ZEALAND on December 2nd 1982 .... named "Piopio" (Thrush). This was the only "QC" type B737 operated by the airline and by virtue of its "QUICK CHANGE" configuration became "the hardest worked of the AIR NEW ZEALAND B737-200 fleet .... flying PAX by day and domestic freight overnight and with a daily utilization totaling almost 8 hours. It was also the last of the airlines B737-200 fleet to be Husk-Kitted during the 1990's. It was withdrawn from AIR NEW ZEALAND service on January 5th 2001 and stored at Christchurch. On March 1st 2001 was acquired by AIRWORK NZ LTD .... and occasionally leased back to AIR NEW ZEALAND for additional domestic capacity .... and also sub leased to the airlines FREEDOM AIR subsidiary from May 2nd 2001 until October 22 2001 when it was returned to AIRWORK. On May 10th 2011 this aircraft was withdrawn from AIRWORK service and stored at Auckland. It was sold to J & L LEASING CO LTD (C-GTVO) on October 5th 2012 .... then leased to FIRST AIR (with whom it was upgraded with Gravel Kits) until August 30th 2013. It was next acquired by AVIATION STAR LINK INC on September 26th 2013 and operated until February 7th 2015 when it was withdrawn from service and placed into storage again. It was then sold to CHRONO AVIATION on July 19th 2018 and once again withdrawn from service on November 30th 2018 .... then reactivated on December 11th 2018. It is believed this aircraft currently remains in service with CHRONO AVIATION as "C-GTVO".

B737-204 ADV ZK-NAI (C/N # 22365 L/N # 700) was first delivered to BRITANNIA AIRWAYS (G-BHWF .... named "Lord Brabazon Of Tara") on December 1st 1980. It was sold to THOMPSON TOUR OPERATIONS on November 29th 1985 .... then leased back to BRITANNIA AIRWAYS .... and sub leased to AIR NEW ZEALAND from January 19th 1988 until April 30th 1988. It was then leased to MIDWAY AIRLINES from November 1st 1988 until April 20th 1989 when it returned to BRITANNIA AIWAYS and renamed "Sir Stanley MATHEWS" .... then again renamed "Lord Brabazon Of Tara" on June 27th 1990. It was sold to KB FLYGPLANET on June 11th 1991 and leased back to BRITANNIA AIRWAYS. It was next transferred to INDIGO AVIATION AB on December 17th 1993 .... then leased to AIR NEW ZEALAND (ZK-NAI .... named "poaka/White Headed Gull) until December 2001 when it was withdrawn from service and stored at Christchurch .... and then returned to INDIGO AVIATION AB (5N-BEE) on February 1st 2002. It was next leased to ADC AIRLINES from November 2002 .... and withdrawn from service during April 2007 then stored at Lagos, Nigeria, and later scrapped.


"POSSIBLY" 1 more AIR NEW ZEALAND B732 "in a special hybrid livery" to be added later, but, we'll see how go.

When presenting images of Erik's recently previewed GERMAN CARGO and LUFTHANSA CARGO B732 subjects I mentioned we'd be releasing 2 "NEW" aircraft base pack configurations for these simulations.

These "NEW" base packs represent each of the following B732 configurations ....

- B737-200C JT8D-15
- B737-200C JT8D-17

PLEASE NOTE: Neither of these are later (post 1970 production) B737-200 ADV or C ADV configurations .... and for each of which engine type base pack configurations were included within our recent and debut B737-200 release. The above "NEW" configurations each represent (rare) power upgraded conversions of early (that's pre-1970 production) B732's. Whilst based entirely upon our "B737-200 EARLY" flight dynamics (different from the B732 ADV/C ADV series .... as explained within "SECTION 1:04/HJG B737-200 ENGINE TYPE/THRUST & AIRCRAFT WEIGHT/CONFIGURATION DESCRIPTIONS" of our forum based B737-200 manual) these "NEW" subjects have had their higher engine type thrust specifications applied and each has also undergone its appropriate/corresponding weight adjustments too, so, their FS performance "IS" a little different from that our other early production and standard later production ADV and C ADV B732 offerings.

The reason we're offering this particular "NEW" B732 aircraft/engine type configuration base pack now is because we'd already released a texture for it within our debut B737-200 release (of a few weeks ago) .... albeit this texture was, at that time, assigned to a "stand-in" base pack due to our not, then, being able to offer a customized base pack for it. Now we do however .... and its available to download (per the following link) for the enjoyment of those whom would like to have it ....

At the moment we only offer a single texture for this "NEW" aircraft base pack, but, our research indicates there were other such engine power upgrades of early production B732's, so, it's likely just a matter of time before we find and add these other liveries to the HJG offered B737-200 flight line.

Use the same new HJG downloads system to access these latest files ....
