Without the slightest doubt this threads going "SOUTH" .... but in a great way
What's presented below will (as more material's added over the next several days) relate to a number of possibly long-forgotten B732's from Australia, New Zealand, and the Southwest Pacific Region generally.
Thee following subject will use the B737-200 ADV JT8D-15 base pack. Between June 1981 and June 1982 ANSETT AUSTRALIA took delivery of 12 factory-fresh B737-200 ADV's (VH-CZM through -CZX). These aircraft were each disposed of to AMERICA WEST AIRLINES between October 1986 and February 1987 .... then replaced with B737-300's. On October 5th this particular aircraft (VH-CZP) became AMERICA WEST's N181AW. It was operated by the airline until 2004 then withdrawn from service and stored at Pheonix, Arizona, USA. It was then sold to SHAHEEN AIR INTERNATIONAL (AP-BHA) during February 2005 and operated until being withdrawn from service during April 2012. It was later scrapped.

Both of the following subjects will also use the B737-200 ADV JT8D-15 base pack. ANSETT AUSTRALIA provided operational and management assistance to POLYNESIAN AIRLINES from around early 1981/2 .... and also to COOK ISLANDS INTERNATIONAL AIRLINE too during the mid to late 1980's. The latter operation was short-lived .... commencing services during August 1986 COOK ISLANDS INTERNATIONAL ceased operations/was wound-up by ANSETT during August 1988 (I was actually on the airlines 2nd-to-last service between Rarotonga and Auckland during late July 1988 .... I'd originally wanted to time my departure from the Cook Islands so as to be aboard this last service, but, travelling on an FOC ticket at the time I didn't want to risk being off-loaded in the event of an otherwise overbooked flight full of fare-paying PAX). B737-200 ADV VH-CZM was delivered to ANSETT AUSTRALIA on June 15th 1981. It became the first B737 to be delivered to the airline. Following crew training and demonstration flights around Australia it entered revenue service with ANSETT on February 10th 1982. Between December 19th 1884 and March 1986 this aircraft was leased to both POLYNESIAN AIRLINES and AIR VANUATU (to replace POLYNESIAN's regular B737-200 ADV operated by both carriers .... an air services co-operation agreement had been established between both POLYNESIAN AIRLINES and AIR VANUATU since 1982/3). Retaining the ANSETT shooting stars tail livery of the 1980's era this aircraft first supported "POLYNESIAN" fuselage titles and logo .... and to which "AIR VANUATU" fuselage titles were also later added. This aircraft remained in service with ANSETT until September 30th 1991. It was stored at Sydney until October 1991 .... then sold to ST AEROSPACE ENGINEERING (S7-ABB) on September 25th 2002 and stored at Paya Lebar, Singapore, until October 2002 when it was sold to DART GROUP (G-CELF) .... then leased to CHANNEL EXPRESS AIR SERVICES from November 8th 2004.

Each of the following 4 subjects will also use the B737-200 ADV JT8D-15 base pack. Prior commencement of the ANSETT AUSTRALIA/POLYNESIAN AIRLINES arrangement during the early 1980's .... and prior to POLYNESIAN AIRLINES eventually acquiring its own B737-200 ADV (5W-PAL named "Sina") during early 1981, NZNAC B737-200 ADV ZK-NAP was chartered to operate POLYNESIAN's services between Apia/Western Samoa and Auckland. From February 1978 this aircraft supported "POLYNESIAN" fuselage titles and logo over its mid 1970's introduced definitive red/orange NZNAC livery. NZNAC was merged into AIR NEW ZEALAND on April 1st 1978. The weekly POLYNESIAN Apia/Auckland charter flights continued to be operated by ZK-NAP until early 1979 .... then supporting "POLYNESIAN" fuselage titles and logo over its post merger NZNAC/AIR NEW ZEALAND red/orange livery. On October 12th 1978 AIR NEW ZEALAND took delivery of B737-200 ADV ZK-NAR .... an aircraft earlier ordered by NZNAC. This aircraft supported the airlines 1973 introduced and Maori waka themed Pacific jade/blue livery as applied across the airlines international DC-8-52 and DC-10-30 fleet of the period. ZK-NAR began operating POLYNESIAN's Apia/Auckland services during 1979 .... again supporting "POLYNESIAN" fuselage titles and logo over its definitive AIR NEW ZEALAND period livery until 1981. B737-200 ADV ZK-NAS (also earlier ordered by NZNAC) was delivered to AIR NEW ZEALAND on July 1st 1980 .... supporting an experimental new AIR NEW ZEALAND livery featuring Pacific jade and blue fuselage striping separated by a white pin-stripe along with the airlines revised tail scheme. For a short period during early 1981, and prior to POLYNESIAN then acquiring its own B727-200 ADV (5W-PAL named "Sina"), this aircraft also supported "POLYNESIAN" fuselage titles and logo over this experimental AIR NEW ZEALAND livery.

The following subject will also use the B737-200 ADV JT8D-15 base pack .... and "HF" model version. AIR NEW ZEALAND leased-in B737-200 ADV G-BAZI from AIRWAYS INTERNATIONAL CYMRU from November 1st 1985 until April 30th 1986 ..... to provide additional lift across the airlines NZ domestic route network. Throughout the duration of the lease this aircraft supported "AIR NEW ZEALAND" titles and logo on its lower ports side forward fuselage only and over its otherwise definitive CYMRU livery.

The following subject will use the B737-200 (early production) JT8D-9 base pack. This aircraft was leased by ANSETT NEW ZEALAND via CORSAIR INC from July 1st 1988 until December 8th 1989 .... then withdrawn from service and stored at Christchurch, NZ. It was one of 2 B737-200's leased by ANSETT NEW ZEALAND to complement its 4 B737-100's. It operated in the airlines full and definitive livery of the period for the entire duration of this lease (unlike leased sister-ship ZK-NEF which during the same period supported "ANSETT NEW ZEALAND" titles over its basic AMERICA WEST AIRLINES livery of the period). Upon its withdrawal from service AIR NEW ZEALAND then leased this same aircraft .... also via CORSAIR INC .... from December 17th 1989 until January 1st 1990 for additional lift over the 1989 Christmas/New Year period. In AIR NZ service this aircraft was stripped of its former NZ operators identity to feature a plain white tail with a dark blue Koru logo .... and a similarly plain white fuselage featuring dark blue "AIR NEW ZEALAND" titles but which appeared in the ANSETT NZ font style. It was returned to CORSAIR INC .... then leased to AIR LANKA (4R-ULL) from February 2nd 1990.
