Before anyone thinks the above previewed DC-9-15 may be an accidental duplications of the ITAVIA texture we already have .... be advised that this/Tony's latest version features the full white hull rather than the natural metal arse we already offer.
Like-wise the above previewed DC-9-31 "is not" and accidental duplication of the ITAVIA texture we already offer either .... Tony's latest version features the natural metal arse rather than the full white hull we already offer.

Hi friends: The DC-9 15 I-TIGI was the victim of possibly "friendly fire" together with all 81 souls on board. Circumstances of that accident are still buried under various state secrets. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Itavia_Flight_870The HJG ITAVIA DC-9 15 is I-TIGE. One understands the HJG policy to avoid simulation of airliners which were victims of catastrophes. Kind regards Walter

Walter's right .... HJG avoided representing I-TIGI (the 1980 accident aircraft) .... be that intentionally or purely coincidentally. Our ITAVIA DC-9-15's are "I-TIGE" (released during 2010) and "I-TIGB" (this new one soon to be released). There's never been an enforced "policy" here just a preference to avoid hull loss subjects .... where possible. The truth is .... any number of textures/liveries we offer do represent hull loss aircraft subjects. Such happens for 2 reasons primarily .... (1) the ID/history of a subject/s wasn't known to the artist concerned (and "NO" most don't bother checking every aircraft subjects ID/history prior to painting it) .... and (2) some hull loss subjects we've done are "historic" in the sense of either a livery version represented, an aircraft type configuration evident, or even a significant historic achievement by such an aircraft "prior to" its demise. "That" possible cause was advanced early in the Italian investigation .... BUT .... the later British assisted investigation concluded loss of that aircraft was more likely to have been the result of an explosive devise detonating aboard the aircraft. The Italian judicial system (I think it is) won't accept this report though. Problem with these situations is the litigation/"implications" can potentially go on for years/even decades following any such event ....
