EI-CNNOPERATIONAL HISTORY www.planespotters.net/airframe/lockheed-l-1011-tristar-1-100-200-ei-cnn-aer-turas/34wkq0Sold by CATHAY PACICIF to AER TURAS during 1994 EI-CNN went through 5 operators (including IBERIA) between 1997 and 1999 TF-ABMThis one's (TF-ABM) already been painted by Tony and is currently downloadable from the "L-1011-1/1F/50" (L-1011-50 specifically) section of our main DOWNLOADS page .... OPERATIONAL HISTORY www.planespotters.net/airframe/lockheed-l-1011-tristar-1-100-200-tf-abm-air-atlanta-icelandic/rzmq5lSold by TWA to HAWAIIAN AIRLINES during 1993 TF-ABM went through at least 12 operators (including IBERIA) between 1993 and 2000 (6 operators between 1996 and 2000 after being acquired by AIR ATLANTA ICELANDIC) Probably not surprising given their age Both were among the first L-1011's to enter service during the early 1970's .... EI-CNN certainly was. Both were already more 20 than years old upon entering the short-term leasing operations phase of their service but obviously with sufficient service life remaining in order to be able to make money despite undoubtedly being more expensive to maintain too given their age .... otherwise one can (possibly) assume they'd never be certified to fly. These 2 L-1011's "seem to be" an exception considering not a heck of a lot of these aircraft "appear to" have had exceptionally long service .... at least not as long as that of a lot of DC-10's by comparison .... and despite being a little more advanced than the DC-10. Only ever got to fly on one "ONCE" .... HAWAIIAN AIRLINES N763BE between RAR and AKL during JAN 1990 (operating for AIR RAROTONGA it replaced the DC-8 SUPER 62 originally slotted for this service, but, the L-1011 could only be sold to DC-8 capacity on this route and during this particular period).
