I need to check this, but, there should be a PDF file with the DC8 panels which forms the basis of a basic manual .... let me know if they're not there and I'll see what I can do for you later on.
For the B707 panel series manuals are downloadable from the "BOEING PANEL" page.

Denzil, I don't know of any other documentation specific to using the HJG DC-8 panels (autopilot etc.). However, if you are interested in real world procedures and critical speeds charts so that you can fly 'by the numbers', you can download sections from an original Air Canada DC-8 manual, which includes all performance charts for DC-8-40, -50, -61 and -63 series. They were graciously provided by Herman Kreimes, and I scanned and uploaded them to www.avsim.com . File names are: dc8perfcharts.zip - for just the charts dc8manual.zip - for 4 whole chapters from the manual, including charts. Note that I missed one chart page in dc8manual.zip, so you'll need to download dc8perfcharts.zip if you want the missing DC-8-63 page. Regards, Jim

Jim.....looks like these files have been withdrawn from the library. Nothing comes up when you enter the file names into the search engine ?? Have even tried to enter DC8 to see if that would catch it, but that only brings up 20 files none of which are those that you have quoted ? Could you e-mail them to me ? Thanks Denzil

Sometimes Avsim files appear before they are in the actual library meaning a dead link at first or perhaps they are just not there yet it can take a day to appear.

I uploaded the files to avsim in December and January.
I just searched for the two names and found them both. Or just search on 'halinda' and you'll find them, they're the only two files I've uploaded there.
If you're cutting and pasting the file names, remove any trailing spaces, I had to do that before the search worked.
Oh, and the larger file is like 35 MB, so I don't think I could email it successfully!
Regards,
Jim

Hi All I'm a newbie to the site and the forum and I've just downloaded and installed your Boeing 707320C, plus the QANTAS textures, plus the panel, plus the gauges, plus the manual.
I'm more than impressed with the quality of everything, but I'm having a problem with the manual - how do I access it?
I've checked it out under Windows Explorer and I see a list of jpg and html files, but nothing that tells a fairly slow person like me to "click here and the manual will open". Can somebody help lease?

Just double click on any one of the several blue icons provided within those 2 manuals packages.
They should then open up into full page illustrated documents .... and you can study and/or print those off quite easily.

Please let me clarify one minor point concerning the DC-8 PDF manual. This PDF file is not in any of the aircraft zip files. It is only included with the DC-8 instrument panels. You do need it. And you do need to read it. You'll never figure out how to operate the autopilot without it... Dee
