What a fitting tribute to that crew. It's unfortunate that there was never enough recovered of the aircraft to determine for sure what caused the breakup as it may have prevented at least one other crash if the supposed cause was in fact found to be it.

OH MAN MY PLANES HAVE ARRIVED!!!!! ;D ....silence.....all right I'm ok now, I passed out for a second. They look great Gary, I've been waiting for these birds for a while now. I know I'm being an (censored) about the TC-135's but can you give me a little hint as to whether your working on 'em? A cobra ball maybe?

The RC-135S and TC-135S Cobra Ball's have been converted as well, I got the proof too. They're not my pics but I do keep files on them for reference.

didnt know there is a tc-135s cobra ball... I think you meant tc-135s' as in multiple tc-135's.
the oc and wc will not go to f-108 anytime soon though.

Nope raven, I meant TC-135S. Its a single cobra ball trainer that is used mainly for pilot proficency and overseas deployment alongside the RC-135 Fleet. Before the conversion she had an all black starboard wing including engines three and four (as did the RC-135S). Since the conversion the RC-135S maintains the all black starboard side but for some reason the pic's I found of the TC-135S show that she retains an all black starboard wing but engines three and four do not. I'm trying to contact the photographer to see if they were either painted over or are flat black on one side like the NKC-135E out of Edwards AFB.

You know I havent seen a single TC-135 with a black wing. I didnt know it was a cobra ball trainer... i wonder what the rivet joint uses then for training?

You have seen a TC-135 with a black wing? (looks around....) Anyways, you can tell the difference between a 'Ball Trainer and a real Cobra because the Cobra has tear drop fairings on the fuselage between the national insignia and the horizontal stabilizer. I have a great pic in my collection of 'Balls 662, 663, 128 and 133 all on the flight line. You can tell automatically that 133 is different. To date 'Ball 133 is the current trainer and 'Ball 128 is the only remaining Cobra in the fleet. RJ's have their own trainers. Tail numbers 127 and 129 appear to be RJ's but if you look harder there are no antennas underneath the fuselage or on top of it. Both girls are clean on top and bottom and still have the distinctive "cheeks." Both 127 and 129 are flying under the designation TC-135W.

I can't find a pick of 133 newer than 2004 so who knows...

Jeff is going to send me some more pic's of her next week. These are obviously after conversion. Notice that she lacks the teardrop housings that I mentioned earlier. Jay
