Gary,
I am apparently living right.
You put the E-6B out and now you are putting out the Speckled Trout C-135C. I was just starting to work up the courage to ask you if you might do a model of the Speckled Trout and before I can ask, there it is.
I worked on Speckled Trout as a Boeing Engineer back in the 1997 to 1991 time frame. We put on a Honeywell dual-dual autoland autopilot, put on 737-400 type Collins EFIS displays to replace the ADI and HSI, put on 767 Honeywell FMC's with C-135C aero and TF-33 propulsion data, Canadian-Marconi EICAS, a 737 autopilot Mode Control Panel, and a few other mods. I got to fly about 25 times with the crew to flight test autoland and the other new autopilot modes along with FMC VNAV and LNAV.
Speckled Trout was retired on 10 Feb. 2006. She had quite a few unique to -135 avionics onboard and served as an avionics testbed as well as providing VIP transport.
Thanks for the great MSFS models. I can not wait to download this one too.

Dobber,
I am glad I could bring some memories back for you. My favorite memory of Trout was back in 2000. I was working at Transient Alert at RAF Mildenhall, and Trout came in with a 4-star General on board. When he left he had to make an immediate right hand 180 to get out of the spot. As is customary, when a VIP arrives or leaves, the Base commander (a 2-star general at the time) and his Exec (with their wives) were lined up on the aircrafts left side saluting as he throttled up and started turning right. I was marshalling and trying everything I could to not laugh at the sight of all these people running from the jet blast from those TF-33's as he swung it around in front of them. Trout really was a nice aircraft. Too bad she's retired now. Cheers, Gary

Not yet, we had an issue with uploading that has now been resolved. I should have them uploaded by Sunday night, then they can be posted to the site when Tony gets time. Gary

Gary,
My funniest (in hindsight, not at the moment it was happening) was when two Honeywell Engineers, the Trout Avionics Chief, and I were bringing autopilot and FMC LRU's that had new software for flight test to the aircraft at about 2:00AM in the morning at McConnell AFB in Wichita, KS. The temperature was -10 Deg. F with about a 30 knot wind. The Avionics Chief was the only one who could drive on to the ramp and he had a Ford Escort which would not hold the four LRU's, the flight test equipment, the Honeywell guys, me, and him. He first took me to the aircraft and dropped me off with the LRU's on the snowy ramp and just before he took off in the Escort to bring the two Honeywell guys he told me he was going to drive over to the south end of the ramp to the blue pickup truck the Air Police were in and explain what was going on. Well of course while driving to the south pickup truck the Air Police in the north pickup truck drove up to me and pointed M-16's at me and had me lay down in the snow for a few seconds before the south pickup truck radioed that I was okay. For an old ex-Navy guy it was just another case of military police harassment, but at the hands of USAF AP's instead of USMC MP's as usually happened at Naval facilities. It's funny now, I wasn't to happy about it at the time though.
