I just downloaded the Pan Am textures for my dc8-30 and when I open it to see how the looked, I found this: Also I have the Air France textures installed on this model and the look perfectly when lights are turned on. So I assume the problem is in the textures. Anyway, Is there a way to fix this? Thank you in advance

The only thing puzzling me is that file has been available for more than 3 years yet this is the very first time an issue has been reported with it I'll see what the problem is. If it's minor I'll report accordingly .... and then I'll try'n get the file changed with the next website update. Mark C AKL/NZ

OK .... I've now had a look at this and have identified the problem.
It appears our PAN AM DC8-33 texture set currently has a faulty night texture for the upper right wing surface.
This is very easy to fix .... as follows ....
1. Download the HJG texture ONA DC8-30 texture set .... if you haven't already got it.
2. From the ONA DC8-30 textures identify the following texture BMP file named as follows ....
WNG-R-T_L
3. "COPY" this "WNG-R-T_L" bitmap into your PAN AM DC8-30 texture set .... and select "YES" to overwrite the original file.
This will completly resolve the problem for you.
As mentioned above I've just had the same issue and fixed it myself in the manner described above.
I'll get a repaired file uploaded by the end of this month as part of the next website update.

Mark,
Just FYI, I have been flying the Pan Am DC-8-30 for years, and only noticed this problem about a week ago myself.... because I almost always fly in the daytime! I was going to post it here, but someone beat me to it!
Regards,
Jim

"YEAH" .... I know ! Sometimes little "BOO-BOO's" like these can be there for years before anyone notices and reports it A similar issue arose recently with non-textured pilots (you'll recall) when flight-decks of DC8-10-40 ("ONLY") aircraft models were viewed up close in FS external viewing mode. Incidentally this "PILOTS/FLIGHTDECK" fix is still downloadable from my "DC8 PANEL INSTALLATION- IMPORTANT NOTES" posting. Mark C AKL/NZ
