G-R-E-A-T stuff Ben ! I meant to ask .... it's hopefully not the same aircraft (registration-wise) the Russian's shot down on April 20th 1978 .... is it ? Flying the polar route from Paris to Seoul .... and navigating by astronomical observations employed in such high northern lattitudes an error was made .... which eventually resulted in the B707 straying off-course by almost 1,500 miles Intercepted by Soviet fighters the B707 was hit by cannon fire and force-landed on a frozen lake near the Siberian town of Kem .... fortunately resulting with only a couple of fatalities and very few injuries among it's almost full load of PAX Interesting that a similar incident should occurr on August 30th 1983 when a B747-200 operated by the same airline was also shot down by the Russians near the Kamchatka Peninsula .... sadly with the loss of some 269 lives. Unless KAL re-uses reg numbers the answer would be no. Airliners Dot Netphoto dated 1985. Hmmmm... after some digging around I found these interesting facts on the aircraft Ben has painted. << GREAT paint Ben!!! 1. Aircraft(C/N 19626) purchased from Boeing by QANTAS registered as VH-EAF 2. Korean Airlines Leased aircraft from ITEL Capitol Leasing from 05 APR 78 to 19 JAN 85 3. Boeing Military purchased aircraft JAN 85 Registered as N770JS 4. 22 DEC 88 made first flight with the tail number 86-0416, the USAF E-8A JSTARS FSD 1/T-1 Prototype Side note, 6 of the E-8 JSTARS started life with QANTAS, along with 90-0175, a TE-8C JSTARS Trainer

"YES" .... you're right "P3SUPERBEE"
I've just done some extended research.
Apparently the downed KAL B707 was a -320B .... registered "HL-7429"
