these are good they seem different to the 323C you did are they different or just the lighting makes them seem that way? The engines look good as well I may be cheeky...Ok I am but if you could give those wings the same treatment it would look top draw.. does your magic paintbox up to that?? I only ask as I am not up to this level of metal texturing

I'm happy with it ! I think there's always a fine line between natural metal textures look like actual metal .... or .... assuming too much of a chrome-like appearance as per the B737 AI aicraft in the backgound of one of the above images. However .... these fuselage, tail, and engine textures all look "VERY GOOD" .... and like natural metal should in my oppinion. I'll let you guys decide between yourselves what's best regarding those wing textures. On this side of the scale my only concern is for the final ZIP file sizes. That last image looks like MIAMI .... is it By now I'd be a very wealthy person indeed if I was paid $10 for all the times I've passed through there en-route to and from Colombia during the past several years. The bloody place (MIA) is like a "Mad House" at any time of day or night ;D Mark C AKL/NZ

If anybody could shed some light on this it would be a great help. Mark, They Have been saved as un-mipped DXT3 as opposed to my usual 32-bit 888 textures to save on file size. Outstanding metal textures! About the best I've seen. Wish others had your talent; I could learn to love the AAL scheme.
Thanks & looking forward to downloading.

Oh I forgot to add........
Tony: The textures are completely new. I used a digital scan of an Air Canada 767-200 that briefly appeared in a bear metal scheme, cut the bits out of the fuselage i wanted in mspaint....imported them into PSP7, exploded them and then applied the photoreal metal into the paintkit, whereas with the 323C i used the old stretching and blurring technique most often used by metal texturers.
Techically im cheating......but theres alot of touching up to do with either method. I will have to apply this into a paintkit for HJG to use once i have 'got it right' (by that i mean something that impresses me let alone anyone else ;D).

YEAH .... I'm OK with those wings too. So far as I'm aware only the leading edges and control surfaces on the wings were polished to any extent. The remainder of the wings were were not so highly polished .... or .... just painted grey corroguard center panels. AH GOOD .... then I guess they'll be no more than aroud the size of your recent AA B707-323C fotoreal textures. BOSTON aye ! Certainly looks a lot like MIAMI ! Mark C AKL/NZ

Oooh Those look very good! Keep up the good work, im starting to like AA 720s as much as I like AA 707-120s after seeing those ;D Keep Up the good work whereas with the 323C i used the old stretching and blurring technique most often used by metal texturers. Ben You couldnt elaborate a little bit? its just ive been trying to paint half decent metal textures (on AI Aircraft) for a good while now and I cant seem to get it right. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Elliot, If u want my advice, dont paint em, steal em!!!! ;D Airliners.net is full of aircraft in bare metal schemes. all you have to do is steal a 'patch' off of the photograph with the desired likeness to how you feel metal should be represented and repeat it down the fuselage so that it is seamless. You can adjust brightness/contrast if need be and modify the colour channels i.e. if you metal needs to be more blue for example. It really is as easy as that. oh, and dont go crazy on the alpha channels. Cheers John, I aim to please!!! Just thought i'd up the realism on this one a bit!!! Ben

Ben,
Very nice job on these textures. I'd suggest one thing and one thing only. Darkening ther bottom wing textures just slightly. I may have a go at the wings, the only area I think needs any "treatment would be the leading edges and the slats.
Waiting patinetly for this one.

Here are my attempt at some slightly more realistic wings, they go well with that natural metal look. Im still tweaking them.
