The original delivery scheme as seen on the WAL -139. Thanks to Mark for his photo links. Also credit to having George W. Cearley's book on the 707/720 handy. This is a very early left side shot of what's going on at the moment with her. Many details yet to get fixed and worked on. The PSD needed a complete update with new metal added in and tweaked. Still have work to do on the wings and engines. The tail came out rather surprising to me. This part took longer than the forward fuselage Indian Chieftain logo and lining up the downward facing stripes. Enjoy! John

Presenting John KEAN's latest/completed WESTERN AIRLINES repaints. WESTERN AIRLINES B707-139 N74614 (1960)WESTERN AIRLINES B707-139 N74613 (1962)Spot the differences ? ;D WESTERN AIRLINES operated 2 B707-139's. These aircraft were originally odered by CUBANA DE AVIACION during the late 1950's .... but .... their delivery was vetoed by the US government due to CASTRO's stand/alliance with former Soviet Union .... which then saw both aircraft eventually delivered to WESTERN .... and CUBANA ultimately become an operator of predominantly Soviet airliners which has prevailed until the present day. John's latest high quality texture sets will become available sometime next month. Thanks John ! Mark C AKL/NZ

Very nice!!
We seem to have these 139 birds well represented since theres at least one other paint (The Caledonian one) on HJG.
As for the differences, the main things to stick out to me would be different Western titles on the 1962 version as well as what looks like a slightly different Indian Chieftan logo.

The Cheatline goes right to the back of Plane on the 1960 livery where as it stops at the Horizontal Stabiliser on the 1962 livery.

ACK! I've made a BIG BOO-BOO with this scheme. The Indian Face needs to have small pinstripe lines go through them and the Red overall needs to be lightened up. I'm working up a COMPLETELY NEW version as I write this and I'm going to do N74613 as well in her 1962 era modified livery. I didn't notice this until the imagery I have here for the nose in B/W seemed strange focusing on the Indian Head. Then I compared it to the imagery from some books of the L-188 Electra from this era and sure enough there it is!! www.airliners.net/open.file/0111744/L/Sorry about this guys! UPDATE Enroute ASAP!!! No sweat Mark! An ole motto I remember from the Air Force Air Cargo Dawgs was "You Call? We Haul!" and that's what we're doing again. {hehehehe}
BTW..N74613 COMPLETE!
Screenshots any minute now..Features are the 1962 era WAL livery with revised tailcone and horizontal stabilizer fillet joint area.
Two ship formation getting fueled and stocked for the trip 'outta here within the hour now. Gotta give a ring to my standby crews for the second one..I'm sure they'll love hearing the itinerary for this early morning from RCNN..
Anyway..time to savor that new airplane smell..{Grin}
