"YES" .... I must admit loving these oddball/hybrid type liveries It's just a great pitty (or athough maybe fortunate for our hosts in reation to permissable band width ;D) that these great British Airways liveries were never (apparently) recieved unanymously well by the public or industry anywhere .... or so I'm led to believe ! But .... as far as HJG is concerned .... bring'em on Ben ! Mark C AKL/NZ

I think what really happens is when any new concept as radical as the the BA "World Tails" is first introduced, there's always a significant adjustment period before everyone accustomizes to it.
It's usually only well after such a concept is withdrawn (particularly under the circumstances these great liveries were) that people really start to appreciate .... later .... what a great and original concept it really was in the first instance.
Other than the initial public outcry against these liveries .... I understand BA's "World Tails" often caused significant confusion at foreign airports .... like LAX .... among ATC, ground staff, and even other airlines too. With every tail being different .... nothing was standard or as easy to identify definitively as other airlines.
I think such confusion within the industry more than public outcry against the concept was the real reason why it was eventually scrapped .... and the stylelised Union Jack (which looks plenty classy too) then applied fleetwide to all BA tails.
Still a pitty though .... because I most personally loved the BA "World Tail" concept.

That must include me then because I still think they are crap.. I was at BHX when they unveiled the 737 and I asked the pretty thing that peddles booze on the plane what was it supposed to be and what would it look like when it was finished? She muttered something I could not understand but it may have been what Ben said ;D I think Ben, Mark that everyone has an opinion and sometimes we do not agree but its nice that we can have an opinion and that should be respected, beauty is in the eye of the beholder...not everyone sees the same thing. The repaints are excellent Ben it just did not look fight in my eye that the national flag carrier did away with the flag for that time period.

Ben.
I must be ignorant because I hate them despite 30 years in the Graphic Arts trade...but what would I know as I was only doing this sort of thing before computers and before you were born.
I do have an opinion and I don't like these and won't be told by anyone that I am ignorant because I don't like something that the majortity of people disliked.

Folks ! Sentiments still run strong in relation to the BA World Tails concept .... and will likely continue doing so for quite some years come. Even here in New Zealand oppinions wee devided .... and we never ever saw these liveries in the flesh .... except on 1 BA B747-400 leased to QANTAS for a time and which came through NZAA quite frequently. Love'em or hate'em .... we're all entitled to our own private views regarding'em .... My final comments on this particular subject is as follows .... I I'm just pleased to see these liveries being manifested for our BAe 146-300 inventory. When they go up folk will be "FREE" to download'em if they want'em .... or .... select something else they much rather prefer. Downloading these isn't obligatory. I think that'll be all now !
