Is there, or has there been found a fix for the Altitude Select Gauge not being active on the DC8-50 panel? The gauge itself is there, but it does absolutely nothing!
Thanks!

This is a known .... but very rare problem .... with some Windows versions and Service Packs only.
I'll try to get the fix sent to you later today.

Altitude select? On a DC-8 autopilot? I think you have to fly to the desired altitude and then select alt-hold. Don't get confused with the Altitude Alert box. Thats not an alt-select for the AP. Thats only an alert warning when you near your desired altitude.

"NO" .... what I think he's experiencing here Dee is a situation applicable to only some Windows/Service Pack versions. If I'm interpreting him correctly what happens is the "Altitdue Selector" doesn't display .... and therefore can't be used.
This problem first came to light a couple of years ago on the old HJG.
Michael discovered reverting back to the older "Altitude Selector" guage resolved the problem of it not displaying at all.
"BUCIFAN" .... I have sent you the replacement gauge set. This worked recently for a colleague of mine having a similar problem. Install the new stuff I send you .... and .... let me know if it works .... it should do.
In that case I'll see I can get it uploaded permantly here as an alternative gauge set for anyone else who experiences this problem.
As I said aboove, it's a known issue, applicable only to some Windows/Service Pack versions.

Mark, I installed the one gauge file you sent, but nothing changed. The Altitude Selector doesn't light up. Also there are no "click Spots" anywhere on the gauge. Its like it is just a bmp and nothing else.
Was ther only 1 file that you sent?
