Simon,
the first thing that comes to mind is what kind of system your running fs9 on and what the framerate settings on while your running the sim. I usually experience flickering with DTX3 textures on slower computers but not to the point where the program freezes. The most it does is screw with my refresh rate a little bit but this is a new one for me. What kind of hardware are you running?
Jay
btw. the guys on the forum are really cool so don't be scared ;D

I have never seen these problems before. Anyone else had anything unusual like this happen?

Hmmmmm.....your setup seems fine simon. I can't imagine what the problem is. At 22fps everything should be hunkey-dorey. Just for kicks, do an adware check...those little buggers can hide in your registry and really goof things up. I had problems with that not too long ago and it really killed the performance of my comp. I still dunno though, with a P4 FS9 should fly (pun intended). Is the 135R the only bird your having problems with? Try downloading the 135A or EC-135...to see if it's limited to just one bird. If it is then try freeware that isn't HJG like Kirk Olssons F-16C or one of the various POSKY aircraft (something thats a known framerate killer). If they're all giving you problems then it's all hardware and/or software related. If it's just the 135R then there's a probem with the bird.
