Klaus .... if you take a look at our "B707-420" downloads page you will find we already have the old/early 1960's LUFTHANSA livery represented .... for both short and tall tail B707-420's .... as follows
LH old livery short tail B707-420 1960 - D-ABOB - 707-430 Textures by Tony Madge Last Updated: 18 July 2007
LH old livery tall tail B707-420 1962 - D-ABOG - 707-430 Textures by Tony Madge Last Updated: 27 Oct 200
Both painted by Tony
It's up to Tony whatever he decides to do .... but .... I don't really see the point in representing the same livery for the same aircraft type .... "twice" .... just for the sake of a registration change !!!!
Again that's Tony's call though of course !!!!
FYI .... we also have the old LUFTHANSA livery represented for B707-320B as well .... and as follows ....
LH old livery B707-320B 1964 - D-ABOC - 707-330B Textures by Tony Madge Last Updated: 27 Oct 2006
.... also painted by Tony .... along with the following CONDOR FLUGDEINST B707-320B too ....
Condor B707-320B 1974 - D-ABUG - 707-330B Textures by Tony Madge Last Updated: 27 Oct 2006
.... and just in case you've missed it .... Ben recently did a "VERY RARE" CONDOR FLUGDEINST B707-420 for us too .... as follows ....
Condor B707-420 1975 - D-ABOC - 707-430 Textures by Ben Hartmann Last Updated: 01 Mar 2008

Yes I know that the 707-420 Section has already LH-repaints in the old (60s) and classic (70s - 80s) livery. Also I'm aware of the LH 707-320B/C. I requested this repaints, because then you have all liveries of this aircraft available. Mark quoted: .... but .... I don't really see the point in representing the same livery for the same aircraft type .... "twice" .... just for the sake of a registration change !!!! If you want to look at the "DC-8-63F" Section, you'll find two repaints of a DC-8-63F of Air Afrique (TU-TCF, circa 1985), made by Gilles Mercier. Both aircraft shows the same livery in the preview-window. Could you explain it to me, please?

"YES" .... I can explain it to you "KLAUSFLY" ! Those AIR AFRIQUE DC8-63 repaints represent that particular aircraft (TU-TCF) in 3 "completely different configurations" .... standard PAX carrying -63 .... convertible -63CF ....and pure freight -63F .... because that's how this aircraft was utilized between 1983 and 1985 and there are significant differences between each one of these 3 textures too. "IF" you take time to carefully study supporting preview imagery for these aircraft you'll learn there's a lot more to each of Gilles' 3 textures than you're actually realizing. These are "NOT" duplicated registrations/textures to justify multi-listing the same aircraft. "IF" you study the cabin window configurations of each subject you'll quickly discover the standard -63 features an entirely common cabin window configuration for "exclusively civil/PAX type operations" and uses our standard PAX model .... whilst the -63CF features an entire forward fuselage section of plugged cabin windows with a common PAX window configuration from around midships aft for "combi type operations" and uses our freighter model with the animated cargo door .... then the -63F features an entirely plugged cabin window configuration for "pure cargo type operations" and also uses the same freighter model as the -CF. This kind of variation is what makes the difference here "KLAUSFLY" .... and it's what justifies this particular AIR AFRIQUE aircraft being multi-listed as it currently appears. Unfortunately your B707-420 proposal simply doesn't have any such alternative texture/livery category potential. Again these AIR AFRIQUE DC8-63 textures might look siimilar.... but .... in reality they're most certainly "NOT" the same. Once again .... it's Tony's decision regarding whatever happens in respect of your LUFTHANSA request, but personally, I don't see the point in duplicating the same livery "twice" .... just for the sake of a different registration .... unless there's distinctive differences/variations in either aircraft details/livery (such as those indicated above), or, other valid historical reasons for doing as applies to our representation of very last production DC8 Mark C AKL/NZ

Thank you Mark for the info about TU-TCF. I didn't know that. Since my request isn't a must, I'm not angry/disappointed when noone will repaint the 707-420 in this liveries.

I just need to clarify something here .... I didn't say nobody would paint your request. All I ever said was it's up to Tony .... i.e. it's 'TONY's DECISION" whether or not he paints it !My only justification for not painting it was that I don't see any point in doing something again that's already been done .... unless there's very good/convincing reasons for doing so .... but .... that's just my personal view of course ! Sorry Mark, didn't meant it that way I think my problem is that when I'm writing english (Thinking in German and trying to write these thoughts into English language). I will try to clear things as good as I can, but sometimes the right words don't come into my mind, while I'm writing a topic/reply. Hope you can accept this as an apology. Klaus
