I tried using on of George's for the 707 but everytime I tried to load the aircraft FS9 would crash.
I then tried the alternative 707, 720, C135 panel and this loads fine, trouble is I cannot seem to disengage the auto throttle.
Tried my FS9 assignments but it still will not switch off.
Can someone tell me the secret please!
Thanks for your help and producing such great aircraft.

For starters .... our B707 panels (like our CONVAIR, and DC8 panels too), like the realworld aircraft they represent, aren't equipped with AT.
The throttle systems in these aircraft, as replicated in our panels, are fully manual.
You need to set power "MANUALLY" .... then constantly adjust it throughout different phases of flight.
Welcome to the world of the 1950's/60's .... now "GERIATRIC JETLINERS".

I realise the autopilot has no autothrottle, but I cannot power up manually, the only way I can increase power is by rotating the knob on the air speed indicator!.
I have just checked the aircraft config file and it shows autothrottle=1, hopefully if I change it to zero the problem will disappear.
Thanks

I don't think so. I don't think our APs have any interface to the FS Auto Throttle system. I could be wrong, but I think you're fighting the wrong war. You really need to figure out why you can't power up the engines through normal methods.

Everything is fine now I have changed the config.
I downloaded the aircraft sometime ago and had to re-load fs9 recently, I have only just got around to loading the HJG 707 again. Because I had problems originally with the HJG panel causing fs9 to crash, I loaded another panel and may have tweaked the config at that stage.
I have a very bad memory, but that is what probably happened.
Thanks for your help, it is good to use the HJG aircraft again.

Glad to know you've apparently got that all sorted Richard .... and can hopefully begin enjoying HJG's classic jetliners.

Being a FS2002 user, I have to resort to the ridiculous sometimes to keep the DC8's flying, so I just equip 'em as if they were MD-11's with all the bells and whistles and head off into the wild blue.
A DC8 in the air is as beautiful as an Adams-class destroyer at sea, both in their element.
Good flights... Bob

Why should you need to resord to the rediculous ?
Do you not have any of the original FS2002 panel and FDE files ?
The current FS2004 files don't work as they are intended to (if at all properly) in FS2002 .... of course !

Hi Mark,
I was just being a little flip, way back when I originally started downloading HJG stuff, I was experimenting with some glass panels by Eric Ernst, Roy Chaffin and Chuck Dome. I never really got around to putting the realistic panels in, I was having too much fun adjusting stuff.
I kept the panels / gauge concoctions until I had a continuous 'work in progress', if you know what I mean. Now, if I were to run a flight plan manually, I would be totally exhausted by the time I reached cruising altitude.
I'm still having fun with with it and that's what it's all about. You folks are the best.
Catch you later, Bob

"NO PROBLEM" Bob .... it's just that if it were FS2002 files you were in need of then I could possibly have organized something for you JEEZE !!!! .... that's getting back a while now ! The deeper one seems to into FS .... the more one seems to end up "fiddling with things" at the expence of actual flying .... at least that's what I've found ! ;D Actually .... once folk take time to learn our panels .... operating them well soon becomes instinctive .... and in no time at all folk will probably start to wondert how that got so busy in the first place in order to be able feel so exausted Mark C AKL/NZ

Yep, that's where I'm at... lots of fiddling, a little flying, and still adding things that might make things work better or look better than what I had before. Those 3 panel designers I mentioned are the primaries, but there were a lot more folks whose names I'm sure you would recognize, all good but, yes.. a ways back.
I ended up concocting a fully functional panel for all my jetliners, low on eye candy and high on 'purty'. Haven't gotten tired of it yet. (At my age, familiarity is comfort.)
Who knows, one of these days I may get a hankerin' to get back to basics and 'realism' but for now, I'm still a fantasy flyer, with an eye to what 'might have been'.
If I were to look deep into my FS archives, I'd probably find the DC8 panels you all made for FS2002.
Thanks for the support... Bob
