United DC-8 Stars and Bars - 2 liveries

Often overlooked is the fact that there were two UA DC-8 Stars and Bars liveries. One had black United titles and the other had blue United titles. Also, in the blue title scheme the letter U was less stylized. It seems that all the stars and bars DC-8s in HJG collection have black titles. Using the UA DC-8-62 as an example, examine the following:

N8967U in Stars and Bars with black titles:

Can we have a repaint of N8971U with the blue titles. In the interest of realism was the real world bird in both these schemes?

I agree both these UA liveries are "historic and sufficiently differently" to justify consideration .... but .... it's up to our painters of course.

Ben "MAY" be looking at doing the other UA DC8-30 livery later on .... so .... he "MIGHT" (no promises) be interested in considering doing these 2 -62's as well.

We'll see what happens !

Actually .... the black titles aircraft in the above posting as a different styled letter "U" font .... not the long cuerved tail on the left side of the letter "U".

I believe the version we currently have represents the standard classic UA letter "U" .... so .... this other stylized version is still available and welcome here if you want to consider doing it Ben.
