Hey, a new Comet 1 for FSX/FS2004 has just been released on flightsim!
"Model by Jens B. Kristensen, september 2008 Sounds by Mike Hambly, Benoit Plamondon and Mark Cranston (Aeromusica)"
...with those names, you know it's going to be good...
Regards,
Jim

I took it from London to Rome (BOAC colours), and it flies beautifully. Followed the recommended numbers and it behaved just as expected.
Great job Jens! And the sound pack was terrific too (of course)!

Jim

Hi gus, unfortunately I haven't had the time to check Jens' masterpiece out yet, and of course I'll only be able to test it in FSX... so haven't had time to see if I could replicate your problem.... there is a Thread over at CBFS where Jens has answered a few questions, maybe something will pop up there?

I had no problem with any of the sim icons (I'm running it in FS2004).
By the way, if you look in the panel.cfg, you will notice that Jens placed a gps/nav switch there (on both the 2d and virtual panels), but he commented them out. Remove the "//" if you want to add this switch to the panel. Then you can 'cheat' and have the autopilot follow a GPS flight plan.
(Edited to add: I don't consider the GPS/Nav switch a 'cheat'; If I were really flying a Comet 1 I would have a navigator sitting behind me. He would give me the heading to fly, which I would then set the autopilot to follow. So the GPS/Nav switch just turns on my 'virtual navigator'!)

Jim

Meanwhile, does anyone have an opinion as to which it should be installed, FS9 or FSX?

Meanwhile, does anyone have an opinion as to which it should be installed, FS9 or FSX? Let me put it like this: If you run FSX: Install the FSX-version. If you run FS9: Install the FS9-version.

Then install it in "BOTH" ;D The simplest and most fundamental of solutions are oftren the most universally successful resolutions ! Mark C AKL/NZ

Then install it in "BOTH" ;D The simplest and most fundamental of solutions are oftren the most universally successful resolutions ! But I'm trying to conserve my hard drive space! Nevertheless, I stuck the thing in FS9, along with its sisters, and it's happy there. This is an excellent little jet, and I like it. Hopefully additional textures will be released.

I doubt you'll be seeing any other realworld textures released for it .... apart from "MAYBE" a couple secrets which everyone else (with the exception of Jens, me, Tony, and a very few others either don't know about, or, have forgotten about .... because what Jens has released there is almost the full/definitive story in terms of COMET 1, and COMET 2 liveries/airline/service operators.
