Is there any way you can get the engine fans to appear to move?

OK .... I can't speak for FSX .... and need Dan's (or someone elses) observations here. I'm FS2004 only. I can say that fan disks on all these aircraft "DO" rotate in FS9 .... save for what appears as a grill located inside each engine inlet (like is evident on B737-200's) and which isn't supposed to turn anyway .... the actual turning/rotating disk being located much deeper inside the engines. Await Dan's contribution here .... please ! Mark C AKL/NZ

Whether they move or not is incooperated in the model to the best of my knowledge. So I think the maker of the model would be the best to answer whether or not this particular animation is modelled.

There is no difference in FSX versus FS9 in this. So if the fans are "hidden" deep behind the grill I'm sure the rotate exactly the same in FSX as in FS9. Same thing goes more or less for the VC10, which also have this "grill" in front of the fans, which quite a few people confuses with the actual fans ;-)

I am pretty sure as already pointed out that you are mistaking the fan blades for the static grill that is just in front of the fan itself. These are also found on various other older planes including the 727s, the 737-200s and even the B-52. Here is a pic on Airliners that shows a good close-up: PicAll the best, Philip.

A lot of folk do make this error. It comes up on our forums a few times each year. Those fan blade disks should appear to be rotating .... in either sim version .... and provided the engines are running of course ! ;D Mark C AKL/NZ
