Hi all... I'm new to the forum, this being my first post and all, but not new to FS9 nor the AMAZING work you guys do. I'm specifically looking for the E-6B Mercury's MDS panel. If you don't already know what it is, it's an off-the-shelf Boeing 737 Next Generation glass flight deck. All E-6B Merc's currently in service (which is all 17 produced) have it. Huge props to Gary Carlson for his repaint of the E-6B. It's spot-on...just one minor flaw...the E-6B doesn't have a starboard side forward main entry door, only on the port. Regardless, is it possible for one of the panel designers to come up with the current E-6B "glass flight deck" for FS9? Until then, the old legacy flight deck is the closest I'll get... Thanks!!!

Can't promise you a E6 specific panel .... unless George wants to release siomething .... but .... I can tell you that Chuck GRIMES & myself are together working on an upgrade of his original KC-135E (TF33 turbofan) & KC-135T (CFM 56 turbofan) panels for greater HJG aircraft compatibility.
Chuck's -135T panel features "Pacer Crag" type layout .... but .... is otherwise "remotely similar" to that illustrated per your above image.

Thanks for the info Mark. On a side note...I installed the old "legacy" panel of an E-3 707...but I can't get the gauges to work...I followed the install instructions completely...
any advice?

Sorry aulde son .... but .... if it aint a product we (HJG) build and market (even fior our own aircraft) .... then we simply can't/don't/won't support it !
I presume you're talking about a non-HJG product here .... right !

No sir. The base 707 aircraft, E-6B repaint, and E-3(with CFM's) panel are all HJG products.
And please disregard my previous post. I got the E-3(CFM) panel to work...forgot to download the core gauges file.

OK .... "ALL" HJG aircraft base backs install in precisely the same manner .... as recommended per accompanying instructions within each package. OK .... I presume that you're "completly sorted out" now then ! BTW .... "IF" you .... or anyone else either .... is new to our B707/720/C135 aircraft and panels then I strongly urge folk to take time to read/familiarize themselves with my "B707 PANEL INSTALLATION & HANDLING NOTES" posting .... which is located on the "ABOUT HJG AIRCRAFT" forum page. Most of everything you need to know about these aircraft and their panels is clearly discussed within these notes. Mark C AKL/NZ

Roger, and I'm pretty familiar with installing all HJG products.
So, about this panel that you and Chuck are working on...just how similar is it to the one I pictured? And will it be compatable with CFM engines?

I'm not going to give too much away at this stage.
For the most part we want to keep as much as possible concerning it as a surprise .... and in any case Chuck & myself both still have a fair bit of work to do yet !
All I'll say is there will be 2 panels .... to start with. 1 intended to be used with P&W TF33 fanjet powered aircraft .... and the other intended for CFM 56 turbofan powered aircraft
That's all I'm going to say at this stage.

Talk about a thread resurrection!
Hey guys, after a 2 year hiatus, and an upgrade to FSX, I'm back behind the stick of my Mighty Merc. Just wondering though, has the panel I asked about come available? I'm guessing not since it's not in the downloads section. If not, is it still a project that's being persued? If it helps, I know the 737NG panel works, and is almost spot on, but it shows 2 engines, not 4. If I knew how to display 4 engines, I'd do it myself, but I can't. HELP!! Thanks!

Folks .... ;D I/we appreciate your interest .... of course I/we are more than cognizant of the fact that commentary regarding the new HJG hosted C135 TYPE panels (there's 2 of them .... 1 representing the KC135-E and the other representing the KC135-R/T only) was first posted "some 2 years ago". I/we need folk to remember/understand that here .... at HJG .... projects are available "when they are ready" .... when we are first satisfied I/we/HJG make no appologies for the length of time this project has been taking .... to date .... because we have, within this time frame, been more than exceptionally busy developing our B727, DC9, L1011, and more recently our new MD80/80 line projects .... as well as the CARAVELLE line project which we currently host here on behalf of AFG. Accepting this then .... folk can "maybe" understand/appreciate that we do have other priorities .... of course .... and why this particular project has been crawling along "at snails pace" for so long. The C135 TYPE panels to which I refer to will become available in the near future. These will be the only advanced C135 TYPE panels we/HJG plan to represent here. No further developments of these panels for other C135 TYPE HJG aircraft models are planned. KC135-E PANELKC135-R/T PANEL ("Pacer Crag" type configuration)These panels are intended for use with the HJG KC135-E and KC135-R models "only" .... and represent the best we can do for everyone once they do become available here. fair enough, look very nice, and "when it's done" is a phrase i'm very familiar with in the world of modding, also the sense of time-scale involved in projects being run by 'amateurs' as a hobby.
