ABOUT THIS WEBSITE UPDATEFirstly .... we more than appreciate Dan's efforts getting everything uploaded here for us .... "THANKS" Dan ! Secondly .... HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE .... and welcome to the first HJG website update for 2009 ! Now for my usual briefing notes clarifying what's offered within this particular update .... 1. Once again we're indebted to Erick CANTU/VISTALINERS for authorising HJG to host his great B727-100 & B727-200 models .... thanks a million Eric ! Both B727-100 & B727-200 are featured within this update. Our new B727 textures and Aircraft Base Pack files are accessed per "B727-100" and "B727-200" tabs appearig on our "DOWNLOADS" page. Aircraft Base Packs are sub categeorized within each of the respective aircraft type dowloads pages and as follows .... B727-100 (EARLY) B727-100 (LATE) B727-100C (CONVERTIBLE/FREIGHTER) B727-200 (EARLY) B727-200 (ADVANCED) B727-200 RE SUPER 27 B727-200F (EARLY) B727-200F (ADVANCED) B727-200F RE SUPER 27Each Aircraft Base Pack features its own FDE. PLEASE NOTE .... all B727-100 FDE has been updated for better performance than first released by us during December. All B727-200 FDE is new. PLEASE NOTE: Despite significant improvements since our debut B727 release during December all B727 FDE should still be regarded as BETA material .... at this stage ! If you already have our B727-100 Aircraft Base packs installed the you need only replace both the AIRCRAFT.CFG and AIR.FILE data. There are no changes to any of the included models. If you are installing these aircraft for the very first time then full Aircraft Base Pack installations are necessary .... obviously !!!! All 3 B727-100 models are identical. The B727-100C version does not feature an operating maindeck cargo door .... nor does the B727-200F RE SUPER 27 version. We do not know if Eric intends to supply these models with working freight doors in the future. If he does then that must proceed at "his own convenience". With respect .... we ask that Erick CANTU/VISTALINERS not be pestered regarding this. Our B727-200F and B727-200F ADVC subjects do feature operating maindeck cargo doors .... but .... I'm buggered if I know how they work. We appreciate our references to both "EARLY" and "LATE" aircraft categories is not official B727 nomenclature. This has been done for "convenience only" .... to differentiate between aircraft types in respect of the fact some of these aircraft had more powerful engines and higher operating weights than others. We have attempted to incorporate these important details within our current FDE data (you should observe slight performance differences) .... hence the need for separate Aircraft Base Pack files. JUST A REMINDER: Despite our B727-100 Aircraft Base Packs being labelled "EARLY" and "LATE" versions the UI IDENTIFIER within ADD TO AIRCRAFT/CFG data for these subjects (only) remains "B727-100" .... intentionally forcing FS to display both aircraft versions under the same "BOEING/B727-100" category within the FS Aircraft Selection Menu. So long as everyhing is correctly installed (according to our instructions) these subjects will all link to their seperate/correct Aircraft Base Packs and sounds regardless. Be conscious of the fact that B727-100C, -QC, and -F aircraft will appear under "BOEING/B727-100C", or "BOEING/B727-100F", or "BOEING/B727-100QC" sections within the FS Aircraft Selection Menu. PLEASE NOTE: All B727-100 textures work fine regardless of which Aircraft Base Pack they are assigned to. B727-200 subjects will appear under more obvious titles within the FS Aircraft Selection Menu and in accordance with their actual Aircraft Base Pack names. 2. With release of our new B727-200 RE SUPER 27 soundpack we also now offer a new soundpack for this aircraft type .... increasing our inventory B727 soundpacks to 3 sepate versions. These are named and intended for use as follows .... B727 P&W JT8D EARLY .... for B727-100 EARLY, B727-200 EARLY, and B727-200F EARLY aircraft subjects.
B727 P&W JT8D LATE .... for B727-100 LATE, B727-100C/QC/F, B727-200 ADVC, and B727-200F ADVC aircraft subjects.
B727 SUPER 27 P&W JT8D .... for B727-200 RE SUPER 27, and B727-200F RE SUPER 27 aircraft subjects.
All B727 related audio is located in the "BOEING SOUNDS" section on our Downloads page. PLEASE NOTE: These soundpacks work fine regardless of which B727 Aircraft Base Pack they are assigned to. Tonal differences do exist between each soundpack. The B727-200 RE SUPER 27 soundpack is not constructed from actual JT8D-217/219 recordings .... but .... does playback nicely in comparison with our other B727 audio. All B727 soundpacks should be regarded as BETA material also.
3. ANOTHER REMINDER: We are indebted to Richard PROBST for authorizing HJG to host his superb B727 panel .... "THANKS" once again Richard !
We first released this panel during December. PLEASE NOTE: This panel is for FS2004 use only. It is not yet compatible with FSX. We are attempting to update it for improved FS2004 performance, as well as to some period/aircraft variety, and FSX compatibility. No upgrades for this panel are featured within this website update. This panel is located in the "BOEING PANELS" section of our downloads page. Although it represents a classic B727-200 ADVC type configuration it works fine with all our current B727 models, FDE, and soundpacks .... save for high EPR values during high altitude cruise .... which we do know about. PLEASE NOTE .... AT THIS TIME THERE IS NOTHING WE CAN DO ABOUT THIS HIGH EPR CRUISE ISSUE .... UNTIL THE PANEL ENGINE GAUGES ARE REDRAWN/REPROGRAMMED SOMETIME IN THE FUTURE. Apart from this particular issue .... the panel looks, runs, and sounds well within FS2004 .... featuring an extensive suite of panel/gauge sounds (with all the bells and whistles). This is not a VC panel, but, it does have a superb landing panel view (other than per the standard main panel view) and comes complete with a full set of high quality interior flight deck views. Once again .... this panel should also be regarded as a BETA release. PLEASE NOTE ALSO: This panel must be installed precisely as directed per accompanying installation instructions. Failure to do so will result in the panel not functioning as intended. A manual is provided. It is essential this be read, and understood, before using the panel. Basic descriptions of some of the most important features of this panel (including an engine startup tutorial) are included within the "B727 PANEL INSTALLATION & HANDLING NOTES" posting on the "ABOUT HJG AIRCRAFT" forum page. These service notes will be updated from time to time. All other essential panel details are well covered within the supporting manual. We are still learning this panel ourselves, so, our support may be somewhat limited .... but .... join the fun anyway .... and share your experience with us on our forum !
Once again everyone .... "HAPPY NEW YEAR" .... and we look forward to your supporting HJG throughout this 2009 year.
