With the new update and the INS on the 722's - can I still navigate using the fs gps flightplans? If so - how do I do this?

No, the new 727 panels do not have the capability to use GPS flightplans.

They can with this gizmo... At flightsim.com, www.flightsim.com/file.php?cm=SEARCH1&fsec=0&fname=INS_GAUGE.ZIPFS2004 Inertial Navigation System
ins_gauge.zip FS2004 Inertial Navigation System. Easy to use. Stores up to 99 waypoints. Waypoints are saved to a data file. Flight plans can be entered automatically. Displays position, heading, speed and times. Full instructions. By Julian Avisenis.Insert waypoints manually, or it will automatically save entire flight plan/.pln file Once you have everything set, and you have clicked 'heading' on your ap, then click 'hold' on this, it will fly your 'plan' just as GPS/NAV did. There is a 'fix' a couple of days later, if you might need it, I didn't need it. ins_gauge_fix.zip www.flightsim.com/newfiles/all/all270.htmThe 'purists' will hate it, but I have better things to do than enter waypoints manually. LOL - even if I have nothing to do, it beats doing that...IMO ;D

Yeah, I prefer flying the VOR's to keying in INS waypoints. I just flew my first flight in one of the HJG 727-200's the other night from KSEA-KMCI...worked out just fine!
