Hi,
just installed the 707-120B and the 707-320B as well as the panels.
When I appoach an airport, the panel is much too high and I cannot see anything outside, only the blue sky.
Another problem: When below 160 kts IAS, the aircraft is sinking very rapidly, so I have to lift the acft nose even more.
Is there any trick how to solve this issue?
I really like the planes very much, but like this, they are not usable for my part.

"TECHNIQUE" is probably the main issue here .... meaning .... one's just got to learn to fly the aircraft properly in order to get them to behave normally. Many factors could apply here .... You could be badly trimmed. Or you could be too heavy on approach and with insufficient power/speed .... which would then induce excessive sink rate and also cause the nose to start rising .... to the extent of possibly even resulting in a stall. You shouldn't be landing with more than about a 25% fuel load. Excessive speed will push the nose down .... whilst insufficient speed will cause it to rise. Find the best balance between both extremes and there's no reason why your approaches shouldn't then proceed perfectly normally .... all the way down to the RWY .... and precisely as illustrated per some of the panel preview imagery. You might also find the following FSX forum thread, and subsequent replies to it, very helpful too .... tonymadgehjg.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=questionsonfsxandhjg&action=display&thread=3069I've not seen many queries like this one, but, some have none-the-less been received from time to time .... I accept .... BUT ALSO .... as this groups principal tester (for FS2004) I can only say that I've encountered no such difficulties at all .... on the basis of my above advice ! Mark C AKL/NZ

Thanks Garry, but these key combination does not show any effect at all.
I allways hit the ground thousand meter before the treshold, the acft is sinking much too fast although it has a high pitch rate, flaps are set and speed is +/- 160 kts.
Also I used maximum trim.

Thanks aerofoto. I noticed that there was too much fuel on board.
But I have still the problem with the view. I cannot see the runway when approaching the airport. Normally I only fly in VCs...

You have to keep the key pressed, a simple CTRL+Q will only change your view very little, keep the key pressed and you will see your view changing.
Personally I haven't had any problems with seeing the RWY, but I also fly in close to perfect trim and speed on my approaches ...

Hello Interocitor;
I have dealt with this issue in a previous thread under "FSX key functions" and for me by using the "ctrl + Q" allowed me to raise the captain's seat by one notch which allowed me to see the approach end (threshhold)of the runway with the airplane at a reasonable landing weight,in the proper landing configuration(flaps down, gear down)and using an approach speed of at least 15kts. above vref.
I did perform a number of tests (comparisons between FS and FSX)with regards to eye point levels with the following results.
1. On the ground both were the same. 2. Cruising at M0.82 at FTL 270 both were the same, with the horizon even with the top of the panel deck. In my opinion this is too low because this would not really give a realistic forward view. By raising the seat one notch (by one notch I mean one click on ctrl+enter) I felt that this is the view the pilots would want to have.
Please note, this info is for the 707-120 only. The other 707's, DC-8's and the much neglected....by some only...CV880\990 may be different. I did fly all these aircraft some time ago but can't recall if I needed to change the view.
When I get back home I will conduct some additional checks on some of the other models.
Merry Christmes and Happy Holiday's everyone.
Herman

If you zoom out all the way to 0.30 zoom you will have perfect visibility
