That's "CORRECT" !
They ordered 10 DC9-50's, plus 2 options, on July 6th 1973, and whioch launched the type .... followed soon after by orders for DC9-50's from both AUSTRIAN, and SPANTAX .... as well as a HUGHES AIRWEST order which eventually went to REPUBLIC AIRLINES.

.... as well as a HUGHES AIRWEST order which eventually went to REPUBLIC AIRLINES. Repbulic's DC-9-51s were actually inherited from an order by North Central. When they needed an airplane larger than the DC-9-30, Hughes Airwest went with 727-200s instead.

I have started to paint the DC-9 now the other paints are done I had planned, I will try and concentrate on the European operators as I know the USA and South America is being covered Swissair will be on my to do list
