We were wondering if you and your team could please develop a mowhawk airways repaint for your 727-200. We would greatly appreciate it if it were done.
thanks,

I know MOHAWK operated the BAC 1-11 .... but .... did they actually run the B727 too ?
PLEASE FOLKS .... supply suitable quality imagery whenever making repaint requests.

I like both of those MOHAWK B722 liveries .... in the artowk provided within that first link above !
Can anyone confirm the registration of the aircraft which appears in that photo .... 2nd link above ?
My information indicates that N7271Q (the aircraft in the artwork) was intended for MOHAWK (B727-254, C/N # 20251, L/N # 782, F/F December 15th 1969) , but, not ever taken up by the airline (I asume it might have test flown in MOHAWK livery though) .... with the aircraft then going to PSA as N548PS/"229" on December 29th 1969.
I also found similar references in respect of the following 2 aircraft as well ....
B727-254, N7270Q, C/N # 20250, L/N # 781, F/F December 10th 1969 .... intended for MOHAWK AIRLINES but not taken. Delivered to PSA as N547PS/"228" on December 12th 1969.
B727-254, N7272Q, C/N # 20252, L/N # 783, F/F December 23rd 1969 .... intended for MOHAWK AIRLINES but not taken. Delivered to PSA as N549PS/"225" on January 6th 1970.
If any these, or other B727 aicraft, "did actually exist" (even test flew only in MOHAWK livery .... which I asume to be the case in respect of the photo link provided above) .... then that justifies their being represented "HERE" .... and .... which may then make these subjects of interest to our painters.
Subject to these details first being confirmed .... we'll just have to see who, if anyone here, takes up the challenge !

We're aware of the registrations .... as listed in one of my postings above. We appear to have at least 1 realword image .... albeit very small and as follows .... flightsim.com/zview.php?cm=view2&....h12.jpg&idx=129I'm sure the above image probably relates to the first aircrafts test flight .... which then implies N7270Q The following link contains artwork featuring period liveries applied to MOHAWK aircraft .... upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/d/d8/Mohawk-fleet.png.... as will be noted in the above link there are 2 distinctly different period versions of MOHAWK livery represented for the B727-200. The first of these is similar to the above realworld image .... except for the registration appearing on the tailpipe of the # 2 engine. The 2nd of these artwork liveries relates to a variation of MOHAWK klivery which I'm not familiar with. We need to confirm these liveries per "realworld imagery". As much as we want to represent these aircraft .... we also want to be able to do so as authentically as possible if at all. Relying on artwork alone can, unfortunately, often be extremely misleading. These are the details we need to resolve .... if anyone can help us do so per reliable/authentic realworld imagery ! The earlier livery surely not and the later livery shown on the 727 drawing was very short lived and a very small number of One-Elevens as the airline was absorbed just after it's introduction. I have never seen any Mohawk 727's.
If there had been, the the net would have many pics as the subject would have been very novel at the time.
I don't even think pre delivery ntu in that livery, as again, pics would exist as they do with BCAL Airbus A.320's of which one and a half were painted before BA's take over.

In the.....For What It's Worth Department; Airliners Net does NOT have a photo of a Mohawk 727, and I believe they have a photo of nearly every type of aircraft any airline ever flew. I know Mohawk had some 727s on order, but did they actually receive them?
As an aside, we all know that Mohawk and Allegheny merged to become US Airways. But the new name should have been.....are you ready.....Mahogany Airlines. ;D
