I believe the; 1963 - N7001U - 727-100 Textures by Tony Madge, needs to be recompiled, it looks kinda fuzzy in FS.
Thanks Guys!

But why do the rest of my 721's and 722's look great, but those two textures look fuzzy. I understand where you guys are going with this, but if it was a setting problem wouldn't it show up on all, or most, textures?
In the case of 'N502MG' there are two textures virtually the same, the first being the MGM Grand (looks great with my setup) and then the RD Aviation, which looks fuzzy... (?)
I only suggested recompiling because when I found the 'Air Bahamas 707-320C' in which, only the tail section was fuzzy, Tony 'rechecked and compiled it again' and it fixed it. (shrug) :}
But if there is a possibility that a setup problem could cause problems on only certain textures I would really like to learn more about this.

Kevinr,Well I just loaded up the RD Aviation 721 in my flight sim and went for a quick flight around Seattle. I'm sorry to say that I did not have any fuzzy problems with this texture.
Are you switching aircraft (textures) during a flight sim session?
What video card do you have Nvidia or ATI?

Let Tony have a look at this please .... when he's got time to do so ! Not necessarily ! Different texture artists here work according to their own preferred format. Various factors can come into play here ! Mark C AKL/NZ

Hey Tony, I think you can work your magic here...
The 'RD Aviation' B721, in my system the fuselage and tail appears a bit blurry, but it looks like the outer engines and wings are fine, also there are deffinate lines between the sections on the body. And, to me, the 'Boeing' 721 early appears the same way.
Everybody, thanks for your help, much appreciated, I know I'm being very picky, but I grew up around a Quality Engineer.
thegetter, I have an nVidia 8800GTX 768mb running two monitors, on an HP system 3.2 GHz Duo-Core

Ok re the RD 727-100 I have removed the mips and converted it to DXT3 so the file size is smaller and the images sharper, re-download it and see what you think. I have also removed the mips but left the textures at 32bit for 1963 - N7001U - 727-100 DXTBMP is a freeware prog that lets you remove mipmaps and also change the format to DXT3, maybe worth havinga look at if you want to have a play with it.

Took them both for a spin, MUCH sharper! Tony, you da man! The only DXTBMP I could find, says it's 16bit? (I'm not real familiar with it yet) What did/do you use for an editor? You must have done more than just convert it to DXT3, I also noticed that the big white marks on the tires disappeared. I may have many questions for you in the near future...

Kevin,
If you go to Martin Wright Graphics, you can download the latest DXTBMP program. When you install the program, take the texture(s) that bother you and load them (one at a time) into DXTBMP. Just drag a texture onto the little airplane icon, and wait a few seconds. Your texture will now be displayed in DXTBMP. Over in the right hand side is a toolbar of sorts with some options. One is 'Alpha Channel' (not at issue here), and the other is 'MipMaps'. If the box 'Include when saving' is checked, 'uncheck' it. Then go to the top left of the screen and click 'file', then 'save' and choose 'extended 32-bit 888-8' or 'DXT3'. I choose DXT3 because is compresses the file and saves a lot of file space with little or no degradation. Then click 'save' and it will ask you basically 'are you sure?', then 'yes'.
Your texture is now changed and does not contain mipmaps, so no more furry textures. If you experiment with this program, you can do a lot with it.
Cheers, Bob ;D
