Hi,
I recently downloaded the 727-200 'early' Base pack, also the JT8D early sound package together with the 727-200 early panel pack.
Having installed everything to the letter of the instructions, with the panel sounds going into the main FS directory, I'm not hearing any of the sounds associated with the panel - such as the "V1-rotate" or the height call outs. The autopilot disconnect sound is still the default 737 variety. The JT8D sounds seem to be working O.K.
Any ideas?
Cheers,
Dave

All I can say is ....
You should have all the indiviadual contents of B727 Panel Gauges container installed inside the FS "GAUGES" folder.
You should have all the individual contents of B727 Panel Sounds container installed inside the FS "SOUNDS" folder.
You should have your B727 Panel folder installed inside the FS9 "FSFSCONV" folder .... the the PANEL.CFG file inside the default Panel folder inside your B727 aircraft base pack aliased back to the FSFSCONV folder in order to display the panel.
You should have your B727 JT8D soundpack installed inaside your B727 aircraft base pack folder .... and the AP disconnect alarm is similar to that of the deafault B737-400 albeit a different version of the same though.
It soundds to me like you migght have put the container/folder which countains all thge panel sounds into the FS9 "SOUND" folder .... rather than just it's entire contents.

Hi again,
No, I've got it all set up as you outlined, and the panel .wav files are all just in the main FS Sound folder and not in their own folder within that folder. The panel displays perfectly OK and is fully functional - just can't hear the sounds associated with the panel?
Anyway, changing the subject, what's with the Admiral Lutjens avatar?!
Cheers,
Dave

If everything's in the right place (as yoiu state) .... then there's really no logical reason for everything not to work .... it's really as simple as that ! Have you modified the Panel .... or .... PANEL.CFG to any extent at all ? This, what you report, could normally only happen if the B727 panels sound files have not gone into the FS9 SOUND folder .... for whatever reason. Have you cheked to conform that all of the individual panel WAV/sound components are actually present inside the FS9 SOUND folder and that they've not gone somwhere else .... by accident perhaps ? Otherwise .... I can't provide an answer for this at all .... simply because I/we've never heard of any such similar problem before in respect of any of these B727 panels ! Might pay you to state your system specs too BTW ! Mark C BOG/CO

Dave .... what I'm about to suggest is a "very long shot" indeed because, technically speaking, the HJG B727 panel files don't/shouldn't need the following action at all ....
I want you to download the current DC9 Panel Gauges/Core Files package .... from the "DOUGLAS PANELS" downloads page.
Inside this file is a folder named "MODULES" .... which contains 2 individual files which are named as follows ....
FSSOUND.DLL
GAUGESOUND.DLL
I want you to install the FSSOUND.DLL inside the FS9 "MODULES" folder .... and .... I want you to install the GAUGESOUND.DLL inside the "FLIGHT SIMULATOR 9" folder.
You must also then locate your FS.CFG folder and edit it with the following data lines ....
[OLDMODULES] FSSound.dll=1
.... and then save this edit.
It's recommended that the above edit be copied and pasted to the FS9.CFG file to avoid potential for typographical errors. This edited is required only to eliminate a harmless "POTENTIALLY IHCOMPATIBLE SOFTWARE" warning (in relation to the FSSOUND:DLL) when FS boots up.
Again .... this action regarding our B727 panels has never .... to my personal knowledge/experience .... proven to be necessary, but, assuming you haven't made any installation errors at all then I'm curious as to whether ort not this might "jump start" (so to speak) your panel sounds into action.
If this doesn't work .... then I'm all out of suggestions because, to date, and as stated in my above reply, there's never been, to my knowledge, a previouis report like this at all concerning any of our B727 panels.
