I've seen this before...cool video. Lots of great classic airliners to see on YouTube.
P.S. Always loved the Tristar. Used to fly on Delta's often out of BOS. Last time I think was ATL-BOS in 2000 or so.

Interesting youtube videos on the CV880 and 990.
I would say, that back in the days of the turbo jet equipped airliners, airports were not very environment friendly places....with all the noise and smoke belching out of the engines.
I can just imagine what it would have been like after a few of those jetliners departed. Visibility was probably reduced by 50%. ;D ;D ;D

On days when the atmosphere wasn't mixing [inversion] there was an everpresent jet exaust haze around busy airports like ORD that I recall noticing as a kid when I lived out there in the 60's.

Awesome! Isn't this the type of plane Elvis used as his private jet? I know it was either the 880 or 990.

Yes indeed.
The "Kings" private aircraft was a CV 880 named "Lisa Marie" which was the name of his daughter.
I believe this airplane is on display at Graceland in Memphis, TN. US.

I haven't seen the two Convairs that had been parked at Atlantic City in a while. (The one in the video is one of them.)
I did notice that the 747SP was moved a few months ago to a remote part of the airport.

Herman Ah...nice to see that it's available here on HJG...complete with the "TCB LOGO"..."Taking Care of Business." There's some nice stories about it in the two-volume bio of Elvis...he originally wanted to buy Robert Vesco's 707, then found the CV-880. Had a bedroom aboard, nice sitting room, and when he first got it, would take his father, grandmother, and the "Memphis Mafia" up for an "evening dinner" (breakfast time for Elvis!!! ;-) ) above Memphis at dusk and into the darkness. I've been to Graceland, but the last time was 1978 (just 1 year after his death) and didn't see a large 4-eng airliner...too soon...I guess the plane would be out in the back yard somewhere on the estate?
