First I want to thank all the developers for their tremendous packages on HJG. These are the finest ever. but there may be something wrong with my installation that I cannot seem to solve.
On the the b727-200_adv autopilot there is a switch position on the roll control knob for "Aux Nav" that is to be used to follow a GPS flight plan. For some reason the knob will not remain in that position but springs back to the "MAN" position.
I have loaded a flight plan and the flight plan route shows up on the world "map view". I even added a GPS panel and the route shows up on that indicator also. But still I cannot select "Aux Nav"
This is the method shown as appropriate in the manual "727 Panel for FS2004" which I downloaded here.
Please will someone tell me what I'm doing wrong and how I can correct this problem.
All suggestions will be appreciated.

That knob, and the AP generally, has never displayed any tendancy (to me at least) to function less than 100% perfectly .... but then again .... I don't fly GPS NAV, or INS NAV either in the case of those B727 panels which are INS equipped..
These panels have been available for well over 1 year now and have proved extremly popular within that time .... but .... despite their popularity .... this's the very first such report I ever recollect seeing.
We took the GPS out of these panels and replaced it with INS .... in "some" panel versions only and as stated above. We did this because we preferred more of a 1960/70/80 era panel/s which relies more heavily on VOR to VOR type NAV, paper charts, and plain good old fashioned "DEAD RECKONING" .... as was the case for most of these aircraft during these times. I suppose it's possible that you might have "BUMPED SOMETHING" by reinstating the GPS over the other implimented NAV modes .... hense the problem you're experiencing.

That's regrettble because that would really be a niice feature if it cold be made to work.

NOT REALLY .... I feel. We removed it (the GPS), intentially, as stated above, simply because we wanted the panels we host here to be more representive of the 1960's, 70's, and 80's.
It probably can be, but, we/HJG won't be revising what we've done .... because of our stated preferences.
The original Richard PROBST B727 panel does have the GPS installed .... and "by implication" .... is FS GPS NAV compatible, but, it doesn't have any of the other features we've installed into the B727 panels we host were .... such as Wether Radar, engine instrumentation calibrated (as best as FS and our own knowledge will permit) in acoradance with the performance parameters of each of the major B727 aircraft/engine types, and of course the INS NAV sysem as well.
