Hi there HJG I have been experiencing problems with the rudders on all of my 707 (138, 138B early and late, 320C) models as well as the KC-135(R). Whilst on the ground, the rudder flaps from side to side uncontrollably, and when in the air it doesn't move at all! I'm running fs9, vista os. Heres the interesting thing, it doesn't happen in the 720.

That can happen of some FS installations .... I believe (because I've seen it) .... and not just on these aircraft either.
I think the problem may be related, in some way, to controller device sentivities/settings etc.
Other than that .... there's no common rudder issue, that I'm aware of at least, in relation to any of the B707's .... or any of the other aircraft we offer.
Any such issue that may be apparent is likely system/installation/controller device setting/sensitivity related.

Don't active the yaw damper until you are ready to take off, not during taxi.
In air the rudder movement are usually so minute that you wouldn't notice ... unless during heavy sidewinds and "crab"-landings. / take offs.

I think what he's referring to here Dan is like a constant/repetative and uncontrollable rudder vibration.
He could certainkly try using the YD .... but .... I'm not sure that will resolve the issue.
I have actually seen the issue he referes to .... but .... that was on another PC and also with another non-HJG aircraft.

I have seen the erratic movement if I had the Yaw damper activated during taxi, as the yaw damper obviously tries to minimize the yaws, and if the rudder and nose-wheel are connected this may give these movements.
There is a setting which controls if you nose-wheel / rudder connection called "Auto-rudder", try un-checking that .... I think it's placed in the "Reality-settings" section in the start up gui of FS.

i think i may have had a similar problem a couple of years ago (i'm not too sure now) as i remember it though re installing the hardware cleared the issue (though the aforementioned points are also valid)

Hi i did some further playing around and found out that it was the yaw damper. I leave it off until off the ground then its alright. Otherwise i can't keep it straight down the line. Thanks guys ;D
