Hi guys,
I'm a newbie here and obviously a little perplexed.
I downloaded the Boeing 707 320 v7 base pack, and I want to repaint it with the Sabena 1965 colors.
There are 3 instructions for repainting the aircraft. I did the 1st one (unzipped file) and the 2nd one (copied the texture folder to the 707-320 folder) but it's this 3rd one that gets me :
"(3) Open the aircraft.cfg and add the [fltsim.xx] section that was in the add to aircraft.txt file that came with the repaint, making sure to edit the "xx" to the next number in sequence."
How would I go about getting this done. Sorry, this is just a little confusing for me.
Cheers.

Well first of all, what you are talking about is not repainting but adding a texture That aside. In the folder of you aircraft, you will find a file called aircraft.cfg. This file should be opened in a text editor, most easily Notepad. At the very top you should copy the contents of the fltsim section provided in the "add to aircraft.txt" file which you find in the Texture package, and paste it into you aircraft.cfg file As one aircraft can have several textures each [fltsim] section is numbered beginning with 0. [fltsim.0] ... ... [fltsim.1] ... ... [fltsim.2] etc. etc.

Hi Dan,
Yes! I meant adding a texture. Thanks for the reply.
It worked, however, now there's a new problem. There is absolutely no engine sound at all, or any other sounds for that matter. Could you enlighten me on what the problem might be? How could I get the sound working?
Thanks again

Hi Dan, it's FSX.

You have to use the FSX version of the sound.cfg file found in your sound folder then. Are you using HJG panels and sounds? or the defaults?

I 'm using the HJG panels and sounds. (The ones that came with the download ie: [fltsim] alias=B737_400\sound & [fltsim] alias=B747_400\panel)

Well, that is NOT the panel and sounds that HJG provides these are just aliasing to the default panel and sound.
Change B737_400 to B737_800, and you will hear sounds again.
But the panel you have will be the default B747 panel, and the sound will be the default B737 sounds .... and I would recommend that yuou keep it that way until you gain a bit more experience in the FSX-world, before you change to the REAL sounds and panels...

Thanks Dan. I changed it to the 737 800 sounds and it worked. I suppose I'll get the experience over time, but for now, I'll just have to keep working away.

When you feel comnfortable doing so .... install our custom soundpacks for each aircraft type .... visit the SOUNDS section of our downloads page.
This audio will certainly help make your FS experience .... even more authentic and enjoyable.
