Apparently a number of Tri-Stars had airstairs that led into the lower level lounge that some aircraft had, e.g. PSA. www.airliners.net/photo/PSA---Pacific/Lockheed-L-1011-385-1-TriStar/1243480/M/This is not a request from HJG, but interested to know if adding this kind of animation to the exterior model is technically possible. This has been done for example by Tom Gibson with some of his CalClassic propliners, e.g. DC-6 and 7 whereby using the door keys the stairs can appear/disappear.

It is possible and I believe the FreeSky Project model will have them.

On first release he said he wasn't, but left the door open for possible later addition along with the L1011-500.

Court Line also had the lower-level lounge and entry. There may have been one other operator.

I think it was also demonstrated on N1011 too .... the prototype L1011 .... whilst it appeared in the very first variation of LOCKHEED house colours.
If I recollect correctly .... that portable airstairs (if that'as what we're talking about) only came at a loss of the lower deck galley (those aircraft airlines so fitted in respect of the L1011) and/or a reduction in underfloor cargo/baggage space too .... which is probably why only few (very few) airlines ever adopted this configuration.
