Merry Christmas all. Any Chance that at some stage a paint job can be created in TAA colours for this outstanding aircraft. Regards Maccades

Several variations of livery are applicable to the TAA DC9-30 fleet. All of these are contemplated .... along with those applicable to the ANSETT DC9-30 fleet too (just as we did for the B727-100's), but, I can't indicate when these might become available.

Very droll Mark. A question for you. You say in the Air New Zealand bio's that ANZ's DC8-52 had P&W uprated JT3-3D's. My understanding is that these particular engines were/are (sic) rated at 18000lbs static thrust. if uprated, can you tell me how much extra "grunt" they developed.? Happy New Year

UMMM .... I've not edited that posting/article since 2007.
A quick skim read of it now indicates (unless I've missed some original typo) I mentioned "rated at" .... rather than "uprated" and as follows ....
To my knowledge .... and despite the fact that the 2 aircraft we bouight from UNITED AIRLINES (ZK-NZF and ZK-NZG) "may" have been powered by a slightly earlier model of the P&W JT3D fanjet engine than those which powered the 5 factory fresh DC8's (ZK-NZA through ZK-NZE) acquired by the airline, no AIR NEW ZEALAND DC8-52's were ever powered P&W JT3D fanjet versions rated at more than 18,000 LBS thrust each .... as you've quite correctly commented !
