Hi all, very strange problem! I have about 100 aircrafts in my fs9 hangars which all are working fine, but my big problem is that all the DC-8 HJG planes I installed do not work . What happened first was that my system refused the gauges of the HJG DC-8 panels, and now, no one of the aircrafts can be installed. I can see them turning around as all planes do that, but when I want to fly, they do not install at all. I have win7 64/I7-950 Nvidia Geforce 285GTX
If anybody can help, I would be happy as these HJG planes are wonderful.
Many thanks and best regards
Alfred

SO .... what you're saying is ....
1. You have successfully installed the HJG DC8's.
2. They all appear in the FS Aircraft Selection Menu.
3. You can see these aircraft in the FS Aircraft Selection Preview window .... but .... when you select "FLY NOW" they simply won't load into FS.
I that correct ?
I've never heard of such a problem/issue/experience.
What happens if you assign a default MSFS panel to your DC8's (not the HJG DC8 panels) .... will they load into FS then ?
I need to ask this (above) because that would then suggest that you have made some error installing the HJG DC8 panel gauges/core files which is then, maybe, preventing the panel from loading with your aircraft .... and quite conceivably then, maybe, preventing these aircraft from loading at all into FS.
If this is the case then you may need to review your HJG DC8 panel gauges/core files installation procedure .... in terms of what you've actually done there !
You must download and install the DC8 panels for your DC8 aircraft of choice. These panels should be installed inside the FS9 "FSFSCONV" folder .... and the CFG file inside the default Panel folder (included within your DC8 aircraft base packs) then aliased to the FSFSCONV folder .... exactly as instructed per the Installation Instructions.
You must download and install the DC8 panel gauges/core files package too. The contents of the DC8 Panel Gauges folder (2 separate gauge files only) must be installed inside the FS9 "GUAGES" folder .... and .... the contents of the DC8 Panel Sounds folder (39 separate WAV files) must be installed inside the FS9 "SOUND" folder and not the default Sound folder inside your DC8 aircraft base pack.
If all of that has been performed correctly .... then there is no logical reason why your aircraft shouldn't load into FS assuming that a panel/gauge installation error might be what has been preventing them from doing so until now.
Additionally .... I recommend fully manual installation procedures .... i.e. extracting all files to a temporary folder outside of FS, then identifying and then manually dragging and dropping the required contents of these folders to their specific FS9 destination folders.
I don't know how WINDOWS 7 might influence things .... if at all !

Hi Mark,
Thanks a lot for your detailed and very helpful feedback. To make it short: I have managed to start the HJG DC-8 without any problem. I have experimented, installed the plane again from the beginning according to your installation tipps. Why there was a problem, I dont know. But it works.
Im so happy withe HJG planes, because I flew with Swissair some of your beautiful historic planes.
Have a good time many thanks again and best regards
Alfred
PS: I have found the error: I forgot to include the core files.....

"IKARUS2011" .... glad to know you're sorted ! Our pleasure ! If you, or anyone else, are new to our DC8's then I recommend folk study my "DC8 PANEL INSTALLATIION & HANDLING NOTES" for these aircraft and which appear on the "ABOUT HJG AIRCRAFT" forum. Similar Panel Installation & Handling Notes postings are also represented on this same forum page and for our following aircraft simulations .... B707/B720
CV880/CV990
B727Notes for our following simulations are located of each of their respectice Aircraft Support forum pages too .... CARAVELLE .... see CARAVELLE AIRCRAF SUPPORT forum page !
DC9 .... see DOUGLAS AIRCRAFT SUPPORT forum page !
L1011 .... see LOCKHEED AIRCRAFT SUPPORT forum page !These notes go a long way beyond explaining just installaton procedures only .... and cover most of everything that needs to be understood regarding these simulations in order to enjoy them to "THE MAX". Mark C AKL/NZ

I just downloaded the base DC-8-62 (HJG_Douglas_DC-8-62_v5), dowloaded the repaint (dc-8-62_united_airlines_1969-62_n8971u), downloaded panel (HJG_DC-8-62-63_panel_v1). I followed the instructions, the A/C shows up in the list, as well as the repaint but the panel shows up but no gauges. The instructions says copy intact folder into the fsfsconv folder, which I did (not seperately). I am stumped. I read the above issues but they seem to be different. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

That instruction relates to the actual panel folder/s only. That is happening because you have fortten to download and install the following essential/critical file .... DC8 PANEL GAUGES & CORE FILESThis particular file is a seperate download. You'll find it located at the very top of the DC8 PANELS downloads page. It contains all of the panel gauges files .... as well as all of the panel sound files too. Install all of the panel gauges (2 individual gauge files only) inside the FS9 "GAUGES" folder. Install all of the panel sounds (39 individual WAV samples) inside the FS9 "SOUND" folder .... i.e. the Sound folder which forms part of the FS9 directory of folders and "not" the Sound folder inside your DC8 Aircraft Base Pack. Do this "correctly" .... and you "WILL" have "NO PROBLEMS" whatsoever ! Mark C AKL/NZ

Thanks Aerofoto, my fault I didn't see that part when I downloaded the panel.
