As mentioned above .... these classic/historic Venezuelan DC9-30 liveries are going to be "interesting" .... and become "even more interesting" too as Alejandro advances this project for us ! Just added to the above previews is DC9-31 YV-C-LEV .... which, during 1973, supported an attractive pink/purple striped livery (created by Venezuelan abstract artist/graphics designer Mateo MANAURE) with dual "AEROPOSTAL" and "AVENSA" titles MUY BONITO Alejenadro .... muchismas gracias ! Presenting (above) the very latest in Alejandro's growing flightline of classic/historic DC9-30's from the Republic of Venezuela .... this time featuring "Los Dos Pollitos / The Two Little/Baby Chickens" .... as both these 2 DC9's were known affectionately. Represented here are YV-48C and YV-49C as they appeared during 2001 (and there are significant differences between both of these textures) when they both supported this special yellow livery promoting both Venezuela and AEROPOSTAL AEROLINEAS (which is actually Venezuela's longest established airline having been founded by French interests during 1927 a LIGNES AERIENNES LATECOERI until 1927 .... then renamed AEROPOSTAL during 1929 .... and nationalized as a government owned asset of Venezuala during 1933) the script legend reading "La Mejor Opcion / The Best Option" across the lower forward fuselage of each aircraft. There's nothing like a bit of color in the sky and most Latin American airlines really excel in this respect .... with a reputation for creating not only some of the most colorful, but also, some of the most artistic/imaginative liveries to have graced the world airline scene over the past 40 years or so. Muy bueno trabajo Alejandro .... muchismas gracias de todas maneras ! Mark C AKL/NZ

Just added, to the above montage, another "5 - FIVE" new Venezuelan DC9-30 classics by Alejandro HURTADO Each of these latest additions represent a variety of great looking liveries featuring 2 airlines .... AEROPOSTAL and ASERCA .... dating from 1991 until just recetly as follows .... 1. AEROPOSTAL AEROLINEAS "El Oriental" YV-23C (1991) 2. AEROPOSTAL AEROLINEAS ("1929-2009 80 YEARS" Retro) YV-141T (2009) 3. ASERCA AIRLINES YV-709C (2003) 4. ASERCA AIRLINES (Blue) YV-241T (2007) .... otherwise affectionately nicknamed "La Viagra" .... and which I don't think is necessary for me to bother translating into English ! ;D 5. ASERCA AIRLINES YV-2445 (2009)[/b] Gracias mil de veces Alejandro por todos estos subditos magnificos ! Mark C BOG/COL

Yet another Venezuelan classic has just been added to the above historic ensemble .... this time featuring DC9-30 YV-706C ("La Virgen De Chinita")as she appeared during 2003. A somewhat more plain livery in comparison to that applied to other members of the ASERCA fleet so far represented here .... but .... it´s none-the-less "HISTORIC" .... and that´s precisely why it deserves being represented here among the other ASERCA fleet sisterships. Gracias una vez mas Alejandro ! And here´s a little about Venezuelas´s ASERCA AIRLINES .... since it may be, for some folk, be one of the lesser known air carriers from the Latin American region .... ASERCA Airlines (Aero Servicios Carabobo) is based in Valencia, Carabobo, Venezuela. The airline was founded in 1968 and commenced operations in 1991 as a small private operator. ASERCA operations originally centred around Valencia, but, in 1992 the airline commenced jet operations using a leased Douglas DC-9-30 .... and from 1994 expanded its route network to include Bogotá Colombia, Lima Peru, and also Miami USA (via Aruba) .... though the airlines Miami service is now no longer operated. Between 1998 and 2000 ASERCA maintained a controlling interest in Air Aruba, and in during 2008, the airline took up a majority stake in Caracus based Santa Barbara Airlines, At this time a merger between both operators was proposed, but, eventually not proceeded with. ASERCA currently operates both scheduled domestic serivices throughout Venezuela .... and regional services to both Caribbean, and Central American destinations. The airline is based at Arturo Michelena International Airport, Valencia, with a hub at Simón Bolívar International Airport, Caracas. Mark C BOG/COL

It´s "A REAL COINCIDENCE" you should ask about this one right now John .... because, believe it or not , Alejandro only sent me the texture for that one (apparently affectionately known as "La Iguana") late yesterday, but, I´ve not, yet, had time to preview it. I´ll likely do so tomorrow morning .... possibly along with another subject too which Alejandro informs me may be pending and which will probably be our last for this particular volume of "Venezuelan Classics" .... since we might be close to another HJG website update. In respect of the forthcomming, yet to be posted, "VOLUME 3" thread of "Venezuelan ClassicS .... you can garuntee that if it´s Venezuelan operated/registered, and has wings and flies, and is an aircraft type represented by HJG .... then .... "it´s definitely on Alejandro´s list" Mark C BOG/COL

AND .... I´ve just now added to the above montage Alejandro´s latest 2 variations of period liveries for ASERCA AIRLINES operated DC9-30´s. These latest subjects are ....
DC9-31 YV-720C "El Industrial" .... in what appears to be a basic MIDWAY AIRLINES livery supported by this aircraft around the mid 1990´s.
And .... DC9-31 YV-2259 in an overall green livery (affectionately referred to as "La Iguana") and supporting "EURPOPCAR" promotional titles during 2010.
As wé´re apparently getting close to the time for another HJG website update .... these last 2 additions will be the last for this "VOLUME 2" thread featuring classic Venezuelan DC9´s .... but .... these are by no means the last on Alejandro´s current production line .... with quite a few more to aircraft/liveries yet to come given both the number of these aircraft which have been operated by Venezuelan carriers along the the variety of liveries they have each supported. "VOLUME 3" of "MORE GREAT CLASSICS FROM VENEZUELA" will be opened, by me, as a separate thread and will follow in due course.
Mil gracias Alejandro por todo atencion con cada una de estas subditas magnificas !
