Some of those 757's are nearing 30 years old So what, considering that I am only slightly older than some of the older 757s out there, does that mean I am "historic"? I shudder to think about that...

I hear ya! I'm old enough to remember when the 757 and 767 were brand new. So, I too, am perhaps becoming a historic!

For both B757-200 an B757-300 .... your best bet is to head on over to the PROJECT FREE SKY website .... thiss the ex PROJECT OPEN SKY group.
I don´t know what they míght already got in the way of ALLEGIANT livery .... if anything at all .... or what they might be prepared to do about it if they hven´t already got it represented .... any more than I know if someone else might already have done it for the POSKY B757´s and maybe uploaded it to either the FS.COM, AVSIM.COM, or SIMVIATION.COM websites.
I´d be inclined to search as advised above.
HJG, at this time, has no plans to represent the B757.

allegiantmd87, You will find orange livery on www.flightsim.com and www.avsim.com. People, It may be true that 757 is nearly 30 year old BUT its last production was only 2 years ago with last delivery of two new 757s to some Chinese airline. And adding winglets to 757s make them younger and save fuel costs by 7 percent per year!!! Aharon

Actually, just over 6 years ago... www.boeing.com/news/releases/2005/q2/nr_050428g.htmlThen again, the last 707, a plane built as ready for conversion by the RAF to an E-3D, rolled off the line in 1991, so that's only 20 years old by last built standard. I still have the newspaper clipping from the Seattle-Times somewhere around here.

Nick,
That Boeing release must be typo. It said 1989. That is not true.
I read last year or so in Airports of the World and Airliners magazine saying that some Chinese airline got last new 757s from Boeing 2 years ago meaning if I read it last year, then the last delivery would be about 2007-2008 or so.

It could just mean that "those B757´s" might have bee "bought through Boeing" .... but .... they might not necessarily have been new build aircraft. Aircraft are often traded back to aircraft manufacturers by airlines as quilateral for new equipment purchases .... and then leased out or sold elsewhere accordingly.
Without specific details relating to the "actual aircraft in question" it´s difficult to establish the facts definitively.
I do always regard Nick as a both a "very well informed and reliable comentator" regarding these details !

The Boeing press release is dated April 28, 2005 and the first sentence reads, "Boeing yesterday concluded the remarkable 23-year run of the 757 passenger airplane by delivering the final one to Shanghai Airlines." meaning that the last 757 was delivered on April 27, 2005.
The part that mentions 1989 in that article is refering to the fact that Shanghai Airlines, which recieved the last two 757s built, recieved their first 757 in August of 1989.
I was living in Seattle in 2005 and have a few photos of the last two 757s sitting on the flight line in Renton before they were delivered.

The 1050th and last Boeing 757, according to the list I have here, first flew on 17 November 2004 and was delivered to Shanghai Airlines on 26th April 2005...(The day difference from Nick could be a US/China date/time variation)
Whether or not it is classed as historic is immaterial though, as this site supports HJG issued models and the 757 is not one of them.

Mark,
I made typo. it should be between 2007 and 2008. Not not not 1997-1998. And I was talking about 757s coming new out of factory lines, not reselling used ones.
So year 2005 sounds right to me for last delivery of BRAND NEW 757s. It is closer to 2007-2008. I remember reading Airliners of the World magazine (British magazine) last year or 2 years ago and saw articles about Chinese airlines in China and remembered seeing pics of new 757s for some Chinese airline with captioned words "Chinese airline was last airline to receive delivery of brand new 757s 2 years ago".
