:)I have been flying the HJG DC9-50 and would like to know if wing views are possible using a keyboard command or anything else within FS 2004?

We don´t provide any wings views for any of the DC9´s.
This´s consistent with all of our other aircraft too .... with the exception of the CV990, and the AFG CARAVELLE 1, 3, and 6N aircraft .... éach of which were produced by other parties and not by HJG.
Incidentally .... the reason why we/HJG don´t provide wing views for our own aircraft is because, in the case of aircraft like the DC8, the wings and engines simply can´t be viewed from the flightdeck .... unless one was to wind-back the side escape exit and literally stick their head "right out there". Additionally .... most of our panels feature a full suite of interior flightdeck views which render any viewing of wings and engines, in any FS mode, unavailable.
Wing/engine views .... from a PAX/passenger perspective (like those included among the early CARAVELLE series aircraft .... up to the 6N only) are something entirely different again .... but .... as I mentioned above .... we/HJG have never sought to include these among our own products.
You may be able to locate DC9 "wing views" at either FS.COM or AVSIM .... but .... these are not supported by us if implimented among our own products.

The wings are visible from the inside on all of the DC-9 models. Just change the VIEWS section of the aicraft.cfg to something like:
[VIEWS] eyepoint = -6.00,-1.884,5.135
Make sure that the panel you are using does not include side view BMPs (if it does just move them to a backup folder) and viola, left and right views of the wings from inside.

:(I added the new eyepoint to my aircraft.cfg and it does work!
However, it looks like the wing is attached to the side of the cockpit!! I was looking more for a passenger wing view -

For an image making things appear to be looking through a window, you need to find a different panel with such a setup. Unfortunately, the HJG panels do not have this (the side images are of the cockpit).

Thank you for your help but I think I should be happy with what I have now! The HJG panels work so well - I really don't want to switch to something else - Thanks again!!

Hi was reading your thread. A friend of mine does really nice wing views. He has already done them for the 707,727, L1011 They work through the Ctrl_Shift +numpad keys they are really nice I haven't sent him the DC-9 yet but I am sure he will do it for them also. If your interested let me know.

Thats not the proper way to see wing views on aircraft models. I understand the wing may not be visible on some aircraft but some people like to fly and be the passenger at the same time, I know I do.
To properlly incorporate wing views if they were built into the model, for FS9 use panel commands... as shown bellow...
[VIEWS]
// --- Boeing 767*300 Wing Views v2.0 --- // --- by: Rafael Santana
VIEW_FORWARD_DIR=1.500, 0.000, 0.000 // eye view pan // view angle 'downward' from cockpit // modify angle to your personal taste!
// Left and Right forward views VIEW_FORWARD_LEFT_EYE=3.800, -0.500, -35.000 // forward left wing view VIEW_FORWARD_LEFT_DIR=2.000, 0.000, -65.000 // forward left wing view yaw angle VIEW_FORWARD_RIGHT_EYE=-2.50, -0.500, -35.000 // forward right wing view VIEW_FORWARD_RIGHT_DIR=2.000, 0.000, 65.000 // forward right wing view yaw angle // Left and Right wing views VIEW_LEFT_ZOOM=1.130 // zoom fix for left view VIEW_LEFT_EYE=3.40, -1.000, -22.000 // left wing view VIEW_LEFT_DIR=0.000, 0.000, -120.000 VIEW_RIGHT_ZOOM=1.130 // zoom fix for right view VIEW_RIGHT_EYE=-2.150, 0.000, -18.000 // right wing view VIEW_RIGHT_DIR=0.000, 0.000, 120.000
// Left and Right rear views VIEW_REAR_LEFT_ZOOM=0.900 // zoom fix for left rear view VIEW_REAR_LEFT_EYE=-0.700, 0.000, -5.000 // left rear view VIEW_REAR_LEFT_DIR=5.000, 0.000, -145.000 // left rear view yaw angle VIEW_REAR_RIGHT_ZOOM=0.900 // zoom fix for right rear view VIEW_REAR_RIGHT_EYE=1.900, 0.000, -5.000 // right rear view VIEW_REAR_RIGHT_DIR=5.000, 0.000, 145.000 // right rear view yaw angle
VIEW_REAR_EYE=0.600, 0.000, -40.000 // rear view --- looking back
// --- Wing Views End ---
These allow you to view the internal wing view designed by the developer with out messing around with the eyepoint, this is only possible in FS9 ... you can get 6 wing views with this setup, I created many and this particalur one had aprox. 40,000 downloads on avsim so there IS A LARGE group of people who like wing views ... for what ever their reasons ... I will create non-wing views, wing views and VC versions of the DC8 ... I can guarantee that almost nobody will download the non-wing view versions if packaged that way.
