The Comet 4C was basically the long fuselage of the 4B with the full span wing of the 4
I doubt if the Washington Comet could ever fly again
A few years ago they had to replace the floor and much of the lower body due to the corrosion I mentioned on another thread.
It was at one time so bad that the floor couldn't support the weight of a person
There is perhaps only one Comet in the World that could fly again
Forget Canopus it was special, none standard, much modified and is uncertifiable
The best example is usually hidden from view at the Science museum store at Wroughton.
G-APYD is a 4B, but the chance of any Comet every flying is remote.

Hi Garry why do they hide that 4B away, crazy... I just visited their web site and it is the worst site to find what they have actually on display!! Are there any pictures of the 4B anywhere? Cheers Tony

I've seen some pics somewhere..I'll have a think They also have a Constellation and the only complete Trident in the world I was in the UK for one weekend back in 1988 or 89 and went to Lyneham. Checked if anything else was happening in the area that day and found that they were having one of only four open days that year at Wroughton They had just swapped Tridents and G-AVYE was in the car park to make way for the 3B That is the only time I've ever parked in a public car park between a Ford Transit and a Trident 1E ;D Garry
