Hi,
Here's my question. How can I tell FSX that I want to use the sound of another aircraft folder? I remember that one could use the sound of another aircraft in FS2004, by placing the sound.cfg file from the aircraft that had the core sound files to the aircraft that the user wanted to use the sound for without the need of copying all the core sound files into the receiving aircraft's sound folder.
Many thanks for your assistance.

I assume you're referring to aircraft soundpacks ! I'm not sure if FSX is different from FS2004 in this respect .... BUT .... in FS2004 at least .... it was simply a case of aliassing the SOUND.CFG file inside the SOUND folder of any particular aircraft base pack to the SOUND folder of any other aircraft base pack file .... like the following (specimen) SOUND.CFG .... [fltsim] alias=HJG L1011 TriStar 1 RR RB211-22B v1\soundIn the above specimen I've told the SOUND.CFG file inside the soundpack of this particular aircraft to use audio from the SOUND folder of my HJG L1011 TRISTAR RR RB211-22B aircraft base pack. I can only "assume" (since I'm not an FSX user) that this form of aliassing remains the same in respect of FSX too "IF NOT" .... then I'm sure another intelligent person will come to your rescue ! Mark, you assumed right, aliasing sounds in FSX remains the same as with FS2004.
