Hello all. First, nice collection of vintage jets. Thank you for sharing.
I have an issue with the CV-880 set that I DL from here. I'm using FS2004 and have an audible issue. From the moment that I select the aircraft and return to the main menu I get a rather annoying sound that doesn't go away until I either switch aircraft or leave FS. I've narrowed the issue down to something in the Panel.CV880 config as it relates to the cv880sw.gau gauge. When I either disable the panel config or the gauge by renaming it, the sound goes away.
I used to work for an airline as a materials manager and we operated Convair 240/340/440/580 aircraft as well as the Lockheed Electra L188, so I'm a bit partial to those manufacturers and vintage aircraft.
I'm wondering if anyone else has had this issue and if so, how it was fixed. The noise sounds like some kind of warning buzzer mixed with flight deck noise. Again, this starts even before you get into the flight deck to fly.

George is "DEAD RIGHT" .... and thanks BTW too George
We not only try to create a relatively authentic panel in terms of flighjtdeck combings and instrument standards .... but .... we also try to create a relativey authentic sounding simulation too in regard to each aircraft type we represent.
This means one hears the inverters .... and all of the avionics sounds too .... because that's what one essentially hears on the flightdeck of any jetliner.
What you're hearing is both "INTENTIONAL" and "QUITE REALISTIC" too.
These sounds also vary considerably between jetliner types and which is why you'ill observe considerable variation in these sounds among what the aircraft/panels we host .... both in terms of whats represented within panel sounds files .... as well as soundpack files too.
You can remove the WAV .... if you desire .... BUT .... in doing so you'll also only be denying yourself of a nice slice of "AUTHENTICITY"
Ok, well, the sound itself isn't so bad, just annoying that it's playing while in the main menu before actually getting in the aircraft and it also drowns out all the other sounds. Is there a way to make it not play during the main menu and turn it down a little? I want to be able to hear the other sounds too.

it's playing while in the main menu before actually getting in the aircraft and it also drowns out all the other sounds.
In respect of the CV880, CV990, and DC8 panel programmimg .... that's precisely what it's intended to happen the moment either of these aircraft, with their respective HJG panels, are selected within the FS Aircraft Selection Menu
Our other panels each represent different programmimg, by different individuals, with different results
it also drowns out all the other sounds ..... .... I want to be able to hear the other sounds too.
All sounds provided within HJG panels are sampled/produced according to their appropriate volume .... which is essentially dicatated by the raw volume of each our AEROMUSICA aircraft soundpacks which are intended for use with each of our panels and aircraft.
ALSO .... you may need to check .... and adjust if necessary .... your FS sound slider options too Remember these sliders represent "proportion" of sound .... one over the other .... rather than actual volume too. For the best overall audio experience I recommend that the following sound slider options be set and maintained ....
Without sounding cruel, this would be a good time to encourage folks (again) with questions to first search the forum database, as this question has come up several times in the past.
Actually, I did do a search for just the convair 880, but didn't see this section or the threads in here for some reason. I think the search results only gave me what was in the first section listed. (I may have been in that section at the time. I've slept since then so I can't remember.) I have since perused this section for the other threads.

AGAIN .... what we "TRY" to provide here, at HJG, is an authentic audio experience, in as much an authentic/best possible flying experience too .... subject to certain FS imposed limitations.
Inverter sounds (which, on the classic old jet-liner flightdecks, were more obviious than is possibly evident among the later. more modern. technology of today) vary with aircraft type .... some of which we've been able to source, or, otherwise acceptably improvise/reprepresent.
What's heard .... among our B707/720/C135, CV880, CV990, and DC8 "panels" (at least) .... is what should/would normally have been audible whenever these aircraft were on the ground, parked at a gate/omn an apron, and connected to any ground energy supply/generator .... as would be the case on turn-arounds/between flights
Only when using the HJG supplied panels .... in most cases these sounds will auto-activate the monment one selects some (not all) of these aircraft types from the MSFS Aircraft Selection Menu in ordr to load these simulations into FS .... all of that is "QUITE NORMAL".
That's how everything's intended to work .... and just one of a number of the "authetic niceties" we like to "try" to apply within each of "our own" panels
I like it, lol once I knew what it was. But why I initially thought something was wrong(which now knowing it's the inverters), sounded like when a old sound card went bad. But it all makes sense now, and I'm loving that authenticity.
