I'll "TRY" and look after this Dan !
The Installation of all of our aircradft, textures, panels, sounds, and effects files is "pretty simple/routine" and in accordance with standard FS installation protocols. Each file does contain fairly clear guidance, but, I'll sieze this opportunity and try to go a few steps further ... just to explain things "even more clearly" for the benefit of those whom need such help .... since we do want as many people as possible to be able to enjoy these files
1. In the case of the DC8-63 .... all you have to do is UNZIP the contents of the downloadable file to a temporary folder (always best) .... then identify and install the aircraft base pack folder
HJG Douglas DC-8-63 v5.3 inside your FS9
AIRCRAFT folder .... intact. You'll find the DC8-63 aircraft base pack file in the DC8-63 section of our downloads page.
2. In the case of your VIASA DC8-63 texture .... again
UNZIP the contents of the downloadable file to a temporary folder .... then identify and install the texture folder named
texture.viasa_1969_yv-125c inside your "HJG Douglas DC-8-63 v5.3" base back folder .... intact .... then copy & paste the supporting ADD TO AIRCRAFT [FLTSIM.XX] from the NOTE PAD provided to the AIRCRAFT.CFG file inside your DC8-63 aircraft base pack .... do not forget to change the [FLTSIM.XX] line to read
[FLTSIM.0] ..... and then save the entire edit. You'll also find the VIASA DC8-63 texture in the DC8-63 section of our downloads page.
3. In the case of the DC8-63 panel
(we offer 2 versions .... INS equipped as well as non-INS equipped panels) .... once again
UNZIP the contents of the downloadable file to a temporary folder .... then identify and install the panel folder named
HJG_DC-8-62_63_INS_Panel_v1 or
HJG_DC-8-62_63_INS_Panel_v1 (depending on your panel version of choice) inside your
"FSFSCONV" folder (inside the FS9
"AIRCRAFT" folder) .... intact .... then open the PANEL.CFG file inside the PANEL folder contained inside your "HJG Douglas DC-8-63 v5.3" folder .... delete the default [FLTSIM] data which already appears there and replace it with either of the following entries .... using only that data version which relates to your DC8-62/63 panel of choice and "not both" ....
[fltsim]
alias=fsfsconv\panel.DC8-62_63or ....
[fltsim]
alias=fsfsconv\panel.DC8-62_63_INSIn addition to the above you also need to download and install the "DC8 PANEL GAUGES/CORE FILES" package .... once more
UNZIP the contents of the downloadable file to a temporary folder .... then identify the folder named "DC8 PANEL GAUGES" and install its contents (only) inside the FS9
"GAUGES" folder .... an then identify the folder named "DC8 PANEL SOUNDS" and install its contents (only) inside the principle/directory FS9
"SOUND" folder (not the default Sound folder inside your DC8-63 aircraft base pack. You'll find the 2 DC8-62/63 panel options .... as well as the DC8 PANEL GAUGES/CORE FILES package .... in the DOUGLAS PANELS section of our downloads page
4. In the case of the DC8-63 sounds
(we do offer a custom DC8-63 P&W JT3D soundpack .... don't use B727 JT8D sounds with the DC8-63 ) .... yet again all you have to do is UNZIP the contents of the downloadable file to a temporary folder .... delete the default Sound folder inside your DC8-63 aircraft base pack .... and install the new "SOUND" folder .... intact .... in it its place. You'll find our Aeromusica DC8-63 soundpack in the DOUGLAS SOUNDS section of our downloads page
Follow the above advice .... and you can't/SHOULDN'T go wrong !
It's all much easier than it actually appears in writing
As I mentioned above .... all of our recomended procedures are perfectly in acordance with standard FS installation protocol
