I'm having a texturing issue with the aerocondor 707-120bf paint job, I do not think it is the actual paint though. I started a flight up at night, I switched to a external view, switched on the lights and the natural metal finish went transparent..... any ideas what would cause that? Just to help out I have a XFX Radeon HD 5750 vid card, just wondering if that is my problem or any other ideas?

FSX or FS9? any "general texture and/or gloom modifications" made? e.g. enb.series etc ...?

The only time I've ever known of something like this to result was "years ago" when these models were first compliled.
You are using the "currenly downloadable aircraft base packs and textures" for these aircraft .... are you ?

Just downloaded these aircraft (two of them) and the problem is the night texture for the fuselage is not named correctly (does not have BF letters to match the day texture) I have renamed it then converted it to a night texture for a freighter by removing the lit windows. I will replace the old files later and let you know so you can re download it.

Sorry for not being clear on that, I'm using FS9. The only mods I've done is editing the aircraft config file, because for some reason, it wasnt appearing in the aircraft list in fs9. I know how to change some things but not anything dealing with changing or modifying textures except adding or deleting paintjobs, the only other mod Ive done was add shockwave lights to it, but when I noticed the problem I was having I reverted back to original to see if that fixed it, and it didnt. Also the other question the ya'll asked, the base package I have, I believe I downloaded back in jan. or feb. I cant recall, Im at work now, Id have to look when I get home, but as far as the base packs go, I download a large group at one time and Ive just now got to try this one.

What you are seeing is flight simulator looking for night texture maps. Some painters paint aircraft but they forget all about the night maps ... if you don't plan on using any, atleast create a texture map with pure black. If your daylight texture map is fuselage_left_T.bmp make another file called fuselage_left_L.bmp and color it black if you don't plan on night textures, this will "fix" your transparent fuselage during night time.

Rafael is correct thats what was happening here, the textures for the fuselage were correctly named with "BF" on the end but the night textures were not so I renamed them and then edited out the cabin window lights. Re not showing up in FS I guess that the model "BF" was not in the add to aircraft.text file. did not check that though...

What appears to happened in this particular case was just a pure oversight .... born of the fact that each of our standard B707-120/120B model fuselage texture BMP's feature the "same name" .... BUT .... those for the "rare" B707-120BF (so far as I'm aware AEROCONDOR's HK-1818 was the only civil B707-120B conversion) are the only ones for this series of aircraft that are "different" .... because the "120 FUSE 1-4" for this particular aircraft model version features the animated cargo door and is therefore named "120BF FUSE 1-4". We essentially remembered to named the day texture correctly .... BUT .... being used to standard B707-120/120B type aircraft textures we forgot to ensure the name of the night texture was appropriately edited with it's "120BF" prefix.
A similar thing happened back around 2004 too .... during the time of the original HJG .... and born of a similar night lighting texture BMP naming discrepency when our B707 model line, at that time, first transitioned to V5.0.
