Hello... This is my first attempt at finding a solution to my problem. Specifically, the vertical speed button on the panel does not activate when pressed. I had a similar problem with the auto-throttle hold button. I went into the aircraft.config. area and was able to alter a number from 0 to 1. That fixed the auto-throttle problem under the auto pilot section. But I have been unsuccessful in fixing the vert speed button to activate. Any ideas or help would be appreciated. Thanks... Fanjet68

If the CFG file you're using for your B727-200 ADVC isn't showing the AT as being available as follows .... [autopilot] autopilot_available=1 .... then you're using the wrong Aircraft Base Pack/FDE version with your B727-200 ADVC aircraft panel I can assure you our "B727-200 ADVANCED" aircraft version FDE does already have its AT section "correctly enabled" as indicated above. You must, inadvertently, be using your B727-200 ADVC panel with the standard B727-200 (early production) Aircraft Base Pack/FDE .... as this B727 version, and its correct panel, are not AT equipped and its CFG therefore does not, intentionally, have this section enabled. PLEASE NOTE .... the only B727 versions offered by us which are AT equipped are as follows .... B727-200 ADVC B727-200F ADVC B727-200 RE SUPER 27 B727-200F RE SUPER 27Each of our other B727 versions are not AT equipped .... and which "IS" consistent with most of these realworld aircraft types. ADDITIONALLY .... it's vital the correct panel version is used with each B727 Aircraft Base Pack (this applies to all of our aircraft) .... OR .... panel functionality and/or aircraft performance are going to be compromised ! Regarding VERT SPEED mode. This's controlled via the the AP. A target altitude value should be dialed into the ALTITUDE ALERT gauge window on the main panel .... this gauge serves only to reminder crew in regard to what altitude is being targeted or the aircraft cleared to .... and automatically triggers an altitude alert tone several hundred feet prior to and beyond the selected altitude value. PLEASE NOTE .... this older form AP system does not, intentionally, feature an automatic altitude capture function and specific vert speed values cannot be set either. The AP system must first be engaged (both large peddle switches ("AIL" and "ELEV") being selected to their "fully up" positions. A target altitude value should have been selected prior to departure or during climb/descent .... and the aircrafts progress toward this altitude then monitored during climb/descent .... with ROC/ROD being adjusted, manually (by clicking on the extreme top and bottom of the large AP rotary knob in order to trim up/down accordingly), to adjust this when nearing the target altitude. The AP ALT HLD switch must then be engaged, manually, as soon as the Altimeter needles indicate the target altitude. Please refer to my "B727 PANEL INSTALLATION & HANDLING NOTES" (on the ABOUT HJG AIRCRAFT forum page) for a full description of our B727 panel functionality .... tonymadgehjg.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=hjgaircraftlistings&action=display&thread=2382This information serves as our online/forum manual for these aircraft. It goes a long way beyond just panel installation procedure .... to explain almost everything that must be understood in order to be able to use enjoy these panels to the maximum. Mark C AKL/NZ

Hi: Sometimes the reason why vert.speed cannot be selected on the AP "wheel" is quite simple: ALT. Hold is still on! On other simplanes AP Alt hold vents off if you select "Vert. speed" but in this AP in reality its not Vert. speed hold its ATTITUDE HOLD in pitch. For flying the plane it implies you have to watch your airspeed while climbing or descending on AP, if AT are engaged you must watch the engines parameters for not over stressing them or the airframe. But on climb even then you can meet a situation where on full AP throttle you can stall the plane. For practical simflying the speed and mach hold of other AP are easier to manage especially without AT, but simply the 727 with the (Sperry 55 ) AP had to be flown more attentively than other planes. In the Russian sibling Tu-154 it was strictly FORBIDDEN (typical expression of the authoritarian style of Russian aviation) to use AT less on ILS approaches. Walter

What Walter states is true and quite possible too .... BUT .... in this particular case, and based on the information "FANJET68" has alrwady provided, I'm 99% certain his particular issues are the result of the following .... 1. Using the B727-200 ADVC panel with the wrong B727-200 TYPE Aircraft Base Pack. 2. Basic unfamiliarity with the AP system represented in each of these B727 panels. Both are very easy mistakes to make by folk new to, and learning about, what we offer here Hopefully the information provided (above) will assist his easily resolving these issues Mark C AKL/NZ

If you're using FSX .... then did you activate the FSX specific PANEL.CFG file .... as per the installation instructions ? By default our files download with only the FS2004 compatible PANEL.CFG and AIRCRAFT.CVFG data enabled. For FSX you need to enable the FSX specific CFG files. There's nothing wronmg with the B727-200ADVC panel .... or any of our other panels either .... provided they are istalled correctly in the first instance .... and then assigned to the aircraft type base packs/FDE's for which they are intended PLEASE .... kindly ensure that any FSX related queries are posted on the FSX SUPPORT forum page .... THANKS Mark C AKL/NZ

Hey Mark
Thanks for your answer, yes i enabled the FSX CFG as told in the instructions. In the first place the 727 worked with the 747 panel. But i wanted the real panel, so i continue working with it, and succeded. Sorry for placing the issue wrong, i will put it right after this answer. It just seems to have some relation to my subjekt..
Best regards Sterling

If the aircraft is "NOT" displaying with the MSFS aircraft selection menu .... after editing .... then you've likely made a mistake in the CFG data somewhere. The slightes error "WILL" cause an aircraft not to display. That error could be in the AIRCRAFT.CFG .... or the PANEL.CFG .... or the SOUND.CFG .... you really need to check the lot/everything you've touched .... and also review each step you've performed in accordance with Dan's FSX installation tutorials which appear on the FSX SUPPORT forum page. I can't help you at all in regard to troubleshooting in FSX .... but .... I can tell you that "so long as everything is configured correctly .... then everything will display fine in FSX" .... with the exception of side panel views/interor FD panel BMPS which I undersand won't work at all in FSX Rather than prolomging this thread "HERE" .... please post on the FSX SUPPORT forum page. It'll get Dan's attention more quicklt that way. Mark C AKL/NZ
