The only condition that might cause a CTD, such as you say you're experiencing, is if you have installed one or other of the supporting panel Modules files in the wrong FS destination folder .... a CTD loading these aircraft (using our panels) into FS is a known consequence of such a mistake
....
tonymadgehjg.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=chat&action=display&thread=3931Let's look at the panel installation procedure "again" as this is likely where you've gone wrong .... but in particular .... I want to focus your attention on the installation of the various DC9 PANELS GAUGES/CORE FILES (required for all DC9 panel versions) package components ....
1. The contents of the folder named Gauges (60X individual gauges files) must all be installed inside your FS9
"GAUGES" folder.
2. The contents of the folder named Sound (65X individual WAV files) must all be installed inside your FS9
"SOUND" folder .... that's the Sound folder within the
"FLIGHT SIMULATOR 9" directory and not the Sound folder inside your DC9 Aircraft Base pack.
3. The folder named Modules contains 2X files ....
"AND IT IS WITH THESE 2 FILES THAT CARE MUST BE TAKEN BECAUSE THEIR DESTINATION FS FOLDERS ARE EACH DIFFERENT" .... as follows ....
- The file named
"FSSOUND.DLL" (only) must be installed inside the FS9
"MODULES" folder.
- The file named
"GAUGESOUND.DLL" (only) must be installed inside the
"FLIGHT SIMULATOR 9" folder .... I suspect you've inadvertyently placed thisw particular file inside your Modules folder which is wrong !!!!
Rechecking and adjusting this part of the panel installation procedure should resolve your issue .... in so far as my experience with this is concerned having already successfully assisted a number of folk privately whom have made "the very same mistake" !
In addition to steps 1-3 (above) you must also located you "FS9.CFG" file and add the following edit .... if it does not already appear their ....
[OLDMODULES]
FSSound.dll=1If the [OLDMODULES] section does not exist in your FS9.CFG then just add it to the very bottom (or top) of you FS9.CFG file. PLEASE NOTE .... it is recommended the above edit be copied and pasted "as-is" to the FS9.CFG file to eliminate any potential for typos.
OTHER INFORMATION INTENDED TO ASSIST YOU ....
The actual DC9 panel folders should be installed inside the FS9
"FSFSCONV" folder .... with the default PANEL.CFG file inside the Panel folder of your DC9 Aircraft Base Pack then aliased back to the
"FSFSCONV" folder and
"the appropriate DC9 panel folder".Be sure to use your C9B textures with the DC9-30 JT8D-9 Aircraft Base Pack .... and the DC9-30 JT8D-9 Panel.
Similarly .... be sure to use your DC9-30CF/F/RC textures with the corresponding DC9-30 Aircraft Base Pack and Panel versions ....
i.e aircraft type/engine type Aircraft Base Pack files must be matched with their corresponding aircraft type/engine type Panel files .... DO NOT MIX THESE FILES INCORRECTLY. "IF" you are new to our DC9 simulation then I strongly recommend you read my extensive
"DC9 PANEL INSTALLATION & HANDLING NOTES" posting on the
"DOUGLAS AIRCRAFT SUPPORT" forum page. This information serves as our online/forum manual for this simulation and goes a long way beyond installation procedures .... to explain almost everything that is essential to be understood in order to be able to enjoy these simulations to the maximum.
