Whoever can help me, I have downloaded the 707-320C basic pack, plus a texture. I am using the Total Comander. However, following the installation "(1) Unzip all base pack files to the aircraft folder of Flight Simulator." the aircraft appears in the aircraft folder on the Commander, but when I start up my FS9 the 707 is not in the listing, therefore I can't even try out the aircraft. could someone advise me, where I am going wrong. Thanks and regards, Miklos

There's not really enough information here .... because you don't mention precisely which texture/s your trying to install .... given that some of these textures are "MODEL" specific as supplied within the B707-320C aircraft base pack. I'll comment cautiously as follows .... When any installed aircraft doesn't display within the FS9 Aircraft selection Menu .... 9 times out of 10 times out of 10 times this is caused by CFG editing errors on the part of the installer .... i.e. the individual installing the data "IF" you're installing the B707-320C aircraft base pack then the container you have installed inside you FS9 AIRCRAFT folder should appear named as follows .... HJG Boeing 707-320C v6Check this B707-320C aircraft base pack folder isn't still contained inside another original containing folder from the original ZIP folder .... it can happen ! When installing textures for this particular base pack you need to ensure the texture/s you're installing are indeed for the "B707-320C" .... and not for another B707 version .... OR .... they're simply not going to work. People do occasionally make this mistake ! When copying and pasting the ADD TO AIRCRAFT data (accompanying each aircraft texture file) to the CFG file contained within your B707-320C aircraft base pack .... you must also remember to change the [fltsim.xx] data line to read as follows for your very fist texture .... [fltsim.0] .... with any/all subsequen texture additions following in numerical order as follows .... [fltsim.1] [fltsim.2] [fltsim.3] This is "THE MOST" common oversignt which people make ! If you've done all of the correctly .... then there's no logical reason for your B707-320C installation not to display within the FS9 Aircraft Selection Menu. If the above advice doesn't sort the problem out for you .... then I want you to copy & paste (below) just the [FLTSIM.XX] ADD TO AIRCRAFT sectionm of your B707-320C CFG file. Additionally .... I do not recommend folk unzip files directly into FS. I always recommend folk unzip files to a temporary folder outside of FS .... then identify their required folders .... and then manually drag and drop these (or their contents in some cases) to the respective FS destination folders. I simply don't trust installation programs or AUTO-INSTALLERS .... I never have .... and I never will ! Mark C AKL/NZ

Glad to know you're apparently all sorted "MIKLOS"
"IF" .... you're new to the HJG B707's may I suggest you take time to familiarize yourself with our online manual .... "B707 PANEL INSTALLATION & HANDLING NOTES" .... located on the ABOUT HJG AIRCRAFT forum page.

I have a Question , JetRanger here, I have FSX Gold acceleration edition. I am trying to install the 707 I believe the 320C,, and the Texture I'm trying to install is the "tga" texture ( Trans Global Airlines) , from the 1970 movie Airport. My Question specifically is - will these textures work in FSX, because the file textures mostly on this site are in " bitmap" form for like Flight Simulator 2002/2004- Fs/9,,, and NOT in the FSX texture file format of "DSS". I am very familiar with manually installing texture files and editing cfg. files, but I have found it almost impossible sometimes depending on the aircrafts author/ creator / designer, when they have bitmap textures, with their Aircraft and claim they'll work for FSX , and often I can't get them to, the Blank Model shows up with no Textures almost always, and thats with Direct X 10 turned off or on. I've also tried turning these TGA files into DSS files and flipping them and inverting them , using DXT Converter , but to no avail, no go. Any suggestions, advice ,, i'm all ears, and I've read the forums here on how to install,,, but the TEXTURE file structure that 2004 uses is totally different than what FSX uses and the way FSX reads those files (upside down & flipped), is not how 2004 reads those files and will almost always cause problems i've seen anyway !! Let mer know get back to me , thanks - JetRanger

So far as I'm aware .... "ALL" of our B707 textures work "perfectly fine" within an FSX environment .... provided they're installed correctly to start with Dan has posted some superb tutorials on most aspects of FSX installation/configuration in so far as this involves HJG aircraft, panels, textures, and AEROMUSICA soundpacks. I urge folk to review these postings in so far as they might require FSX related assistance .... and to please post FSX related queries on our FSX SUPPORT forum page Mark C AKL/NZ

Use them "as-is" no convertion needed ... if you do want to convert them into dds, you should know what you are doing, as it is perfectly possible, I've done it several times myself
